Help please, eathernet not working

Hi there, im having a few issues connecting to the internet via eathernet.

Long story short, i pay £50 odd on internet and only getting up to 50 mbs. I knew i can do better. So i moved into a gaming room and pluged in a eathernet cable.

Note this is the first time wired connection.

Turned my xbox, no connect. But a few seconds later it says wired. However, it checks services stats or something and then it say not connect. And we get stuck in a loop.

Help? And yes, the cable dose work and is plugged in correctly as its fine with my box set and ps3 or whatever i plug in. But the xbox of cause

my eathernet cable isnt working

thanks for the help but still not working with my eathernet cable its wierd my xbox eathernet cable that came with my xbox works but its only 3ft long and when i plug in my other one it dose not work but when i plug it in my computer to the modem the internet
on my computer works whats going on

internet explorer on xbox?!

Unplug the eathernet cable and browse the dashboard. If it responds quicker than with with eathernet plugged , then its the connection. It may not be your internet but rather the live service.

To be sure do you see the same issues with another Ethernet cable or on a friend's network?

Do you see the same thing when connected directly to your modem?

Let's have you try the
connection troubleshooter and the steps it lists.

When you run the test be sure to post any error you are greeted with so we can get a better idea of the cause.

Post back and let us know how that goes!

[/quote]That is the point i was trying to make, the XBL service is slower with the NXE, and i personally think more apps etc.. will slow the service down more, thus reducing the quality of XBL as a whole entity.
