Help playing a Xbox game for Xbox 360?

I didn't know where to put this, this seemed like right place. I really need some help I recently purchased a old Xbox game. The game was Street Fighter Anniversary collection. I research and found out the game does work from the Xbox to Xbox 360. I later
found out, I need a updated Hard drive to play the game, and I also purchased that and installed into the back of my Xbox 360 slim. Right now, it's still not letting me play does anyone know what might be the problem and can give me some advice and where to
go with this?

Your wording is kinda confusing me.

From my understanding (all my info comes from this link) you need an xbox HDD and an update to play these original games. Did your xbox 360
slim not come with an HDD and you purchased one?

Anyways, I think your console may need the
backwards compatibility update. This is a manual process but I thought it was automatically downloaded if you put a xbox original game into the drive while hooked up to the internet.

No, it's not "Official Microsoft Product" but rather. Official Microsoft LICENSED product, for which you'll have to pay upwards of $50.00 or more dollars extra for.

Same HDD as all the rest out there. The only difference is. One HDD maker has a license, and the others do not.

If you want to play old Xbox games, (Most will not work on the 360, no matter what HDD you have) go to Youtube and look up how to use an old Xbox 360 HDD in your 360 Slim. GS usually has 20 GB HDD for around 20 bucks.

 

The only way the OP can play BC games on their Xbox 360 is with an official hard drive. There are no official third party licensed hard drives manufacturer's for the Xbox 360. If you buy a cheap hard drive from eBay, Craigslist or some private seller on
Amazon, you've bought a fake nock off hard drive and it will not play original Xbox games.

As for modifying an original Xbox 360 hard drive for the Slim, that is against the Xbox ToU:
