Help not reading

It sounds like your Xbox is having an inconsistent time reading discs, which can be frustrating. Since you’ve already cleaned the lens and confirmed the issue happens with multiple discs, here are a few simple things you can try that don’t require any extra cost:

Change Power Settings

Go to Settings > General > Power options and make sure you're using Energy-saving mode. This shuts the console down fully and can help with disc drive resets.

Try a Full Shutdown

Hold the Xbox power button for 10 seconds to turn it off completely, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and test the disc again.

Insert While on Dashboard

Instead of having the disc already in, boot up your console to the dashboard and insert it. Sometimes, the drive responds better this way.

Since replacing the drive isn't an option right now, this might help as a temporary workaround. Long-term, you might want to consider installing digital versions of games you already own, if eligible.
