Help needed please!!!

Myself and the Mrs have bought one of the kids an Xbox One for Christmas and I need a bit of info regarding a couple of things.

I created him a gamertag on my XB1 because he's Minecraft mad and I wanted to download the game for him whilst its still on offer but it kept on showing the price of £13.59, yet when I logged in with my 'tag it was the offer price of £3.79 or whatever it
was. So how does Gold/Live work on 2 XB1's in the same house? I was under the impression you only needed one subscription these days. Does he need his own 12 month subscription then?

Anyway, I downloaded the game on my account because I've heard about game sharing in the same household. How does it work?! I have loads of digital games I've finished with which he could play...digital games may actually become worth it in the long run
now.

I'm a proper Herbert when it comes to anything other than playing games so any help would be much appreciated. Cheers all!

i had the same problem, phone the support help line, they will ask you allsorts of questions to track back throw your account, if you have your credit card details with x-box make sure you have them when you phone them, you need to speak to the billing
department, they can sort it, try to remmember as much passwords as you can first

Hi, I have a xbox360 and going to switch to Xbox one. Can I use my 360 wireless adaptor to connect to the Internet on my Xbox one or do I need a Xbox one adaptor?

Also, I have a gold live membership. Does that automatically carry over to my Xbox one or do I need to cancel and re-subscribe?

You can share your gold account it's in the settings. Buy the game with your account and share it with your son.

 

The price of Minecraft (in the U.S.) drops to $5 if you already owned it on the Xbox 360, which might explain the price drop. As for the XBL Gold subscription, you only need 1 subscription per console, regardless of how many profiles you have on each console.
So, if you have 2 consoles, you will need 2 subscriptions (which is $60/year x 2 = $120/year)

 

You only need one gold subscription mate I share gold with my son and all digital games we have are on both consoles I don't know if you use CD keys for live when you need it but there spot on usually just over £20 for a years subscription

to share, you need to make your son's X1 your home console, because your home console has access to your games and Xbox Live account regardless if you're logged into it or not, then your other console will have access your games and Xbox Live account WHEN
you log into your account.

Just a couple more questions to clarify things...I put my gamertag/account on his console and set it as my 'home' console. He can now use my gold to play online etc and download my digital games he wants to play, right I get that.

Obviously my console with my account will be downstairs and I can do everything on that XB1 as usual, yeah? Which XB1 would you suggest I download new games and DLC onto? My sons XB1 which is now my 'home' console or my XB1 I've had since it came out? Or
does it not matter because it will be licensed to me () regardless?

Yes, you will be able to use the second console the same as usual. You can use anything you purchased on your account on any console as long as you're signed in.

You can download the content on any console. Since your son's is set as your Home, it will automatically download there even if you purchase it and download it on the second console.

 

once you have set up your sons console as your home console, make your purchases on your account and console that that you will be using, your sons console should automatically download any purchase you make on the other console while his is set as the home
console and make sure instant on is turned on, if the games dont automatically download you will find them in the ready to install section.

 

I second cdkeys.com as the best place to buy gold. I got it for €24.00 for the year. Normally it's €60. At least you don't both need it though.
