    Help! My highly specific gamertag is unavailable


    I`m almost 100 % certain that I myself, at some point, claimed my gamertag, but then I couldn`t remember that account. Now that I bought an xbox and entered, I`m fighting myself over the ownership of my gamertag (I use this tag in all games, not just xbox
    so it would be nice to keep it.)

    I need to get in touch with xbox support or something but all of that was unavailable so I had to make a post!

    Huge connection issue

    Been having this huge problem with connection on my Xbox One. Every time i try to connect to my wifi i get NAT Type Unavailable and Service Info Unavailable. I've done everything between hard resetting, power cycling, to factory resets, and even port forwarding/static
    ip.

    Any help would be highly appreciated..

    So i was going to change my Gamertag to a particular one, yet it had said that it was unavailable. I then went to search for the gamertag itself yet it wasnt a gamertag please help.

    When you remove a letter from the Gamertag, you are changing the name, resulting in a different string.

    I am sorry, but if the name is not available, you won't be able to use it. This can be due to various reasons.

    I’ve had a similar issue trying to recover a gametag. Gamertags are highly unique and it can be a very long time before Xbox releases the gamertag once the account is full closed out. Rule of thumb if you try to use a gamertag and it says unavailable unfortunately
    you will have to use one that is available.

    Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums, Smwutches is correct, if you are unable to use the gamertag then it is possible it is still in use in different Microsoft servers.

    Unfortunately, if you the gamertag you are trying to create is showing up as unavailable then it is simply unavailable, there is nothing that anyone at Xbox can do to make it available.

    Unavailable- Not available, accessible, or at hand.

    In other words, if the gamertag is unavailable, it is, as a matter of fact, not available.
