HELP ME WITH MY GAMERTAG

I have been far away from my Xbox for quiter a long time now, and I want to join back up to xbox live, I have recovered my old gamertag to find that microsoft have removed the gamertag and replaced it with a bunch of letters and numbers, i can only
assume that it confilcted with the Xbox code of conduct but i had no warning of this?? I have called xbox support and they said they can not help me change my gamertag for free, surely if microsoft have changed my gamertag they give me some kind of compensation
as i paid nearly £7 for it and now they are asking for payment again????? So now I have to pay for Xbox Live and pay to renew my gamertag!!!! this is not acceptable I need help from someone, Xbox Enforcement Team help!

Some gamertag like 'Major Nelson' is just epic and unique to me. I'd like some unique gamertag with my own name 'Vinnie'.

there is no notification and no compensation.

when a gamertag is created it will work until it is reported for violating the Agreement. it then will be changed to a randomly assigned one, you can Chose to stick with it or you can purchase a new Name Change.

 

Your gamertag violated the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct that you agreed to when you created your account. Part of that is your gamertag cannot be offensive, if you violate it Microsoft has the right to change it. You will not be reimbursed or be
given a free name change. If you want to change your tag your will have to pay for it. Also the Enforcement Team does not look at this forum and all decisions of gamertag changes are final.
