Help me locate my stolen x box

My x box I just got fro Christmas was stolen this past weekend. Is there anyway of locating it using the serial number? I contacted local police and it is reported stolen.

My Xbox One has been stolen. I have filed a police report and I was wondering if there is any information besides the serial number. my question is: is there a way for Microsoft to lock the stolen system out so it cant be used and possibly track the IP?

My xbox one was stolen please help me locate it.

You should also contact
Xbox Support, they'll be able to lock down any account that's on the console. Beyond that, you've done all you can do.

Good on you for reporting it to the police, that should be the FIRST thing you do. Microsoft OUGHT to be able to track it. Report the serial number to them. Next time that console signs in to Xbox Live, it will get banned. Microsoft DOES collect personal
info about you and your console when you use their service. They even do console bans. You can track smartphones if they are stolen. Even if under settings Location is disabled, if it has certain apps like AVG which can track your phone even if location is
disabled. You can even track some stolen cars too. It's if Microsoft is willing to put forth the effort which can be a pricey device for some (an Xbox console). Microsoft is the world's biggest software company, after all.

There's unfortunately no way of locating a stolen console. Sorry to hear about that. Unless if there's hard evidence to help track down the thief, there is probably little that the police can do to help you get it back.

What you should definitely do right now is change your Microsoft account password. Do it now. This will at least prevent the thief from accessing your account details and games.

As VanCough and SmileSkyBird mentioned, you can get in contact with Xbox support and tell them about your console being stolen (have the serial number ready). They might be able to lock it out and/or ban it from Xbox Live.

mine was stolen also and I know the theif's gamer tag how can I figure out who they are? I'm still getting the weekly activity emails from Xbox as we'll as confirmations of purchases

You are incorrect. People can track lost/stolen cars/phones/PCs where companies provide tracking software or use of servers. Microsoft is the biggest software company in the world. They could track lost Xbox's if they put the effort into doing so. It's 2017
and companies WON'T track lost consoles which can be expensive for some? That's messed up. When your device connects to the internet (phone/pc/etc) the servers pick up geographical location data of roughly where the device is used (mhm!) so that narrows it
down. Are companies still not going to "want" to do this in 10 or 20 years time? Even governments can track stuff and monitor our online activity. Saying there is no way of locating a stolen console isn't true unless the lost device doesn't connect to the
internet. When you connect to the internet, there is no such thing as complete privacy.
