my issue is about xbox home

i have shared my games with my friend 2 years ago, however , today suddenly , neither me nor him can play the games for the other , every time I try to play a game , it keeps telling me to buy it or sign in with the acount that has bought the game , Anywasy i
still can use his gold membership normally, what is the problem and what should i do ?

Game Share!!!

Someone please help! I am trying to gameshare with my friend, and it won't work! We have all of steps right, he has my account set as his home Xbox, but it won't let me make his account my home Xbox. He insisted that he has not have any strikes so it should work. Help?

Alright guys, thanks for the help.. managed to contact Xbox Support and they helped me out too.

And, i'm sorry, but am I missing something?
I want to buy a new xbox because I will be away from home for minimum two years. Just wondering if my bro would be able to use the benefits of the "Home Console"/"HomeSharing" (or w/e it's called) feature if I sign into my account on the new xbox

You need to make sure that the sharing relationship is still established. Make sure that the Gold subscription has no expired.

If you have used up your Home designation swaps, you are down to two options:

Contact Xbox Support (phone or chat). They may help you, but there are no guarantees.
You will need to wait until you are able to swap Home consoles again, which is exactly a year from the first swap.

HAZMAT RADIO

You get 5 uses of the Home Console setting for your account. Xbox support used to have an option to reset it once to give you 5 more and then that was it.

You'll need to contact Xbox Support to see what options they have.

You can only have 1 console set as your Home at a time. So you would have to choose which one you want to be your Home.
