    To clarify, do you currently have an active Xbox Live Gold membership? Did you have one when you received that message? You can check your Xbox Live membership by signing into your
    Subscriptions Page.

    Let's see if we can't get you messaging again, without having to use a back compat title. (Interesting work-around by the way, that's the first we've heard of it so kudos to you for figuring something out!) Go ahead and try

    updating your security proofs
    . When we have people do this, they're generally able to start messaging again so give that whirl and let us know how it goes!

    Good luck. Help me because I don't know what to do :)
