HELP! issues downloading large media

i'm having issues with what i think is the hdd. whenever i try to download large media like a full game (saints row III in this case) the console or hdd makes a single click noise (right as the download percentage hits 1%, sometimes before) and begins to
cycle reboot. it restarts, logs into live, and then makes the same noise before it shuts off again to repeat this process. this seems to only be the case when downloading anything that is larger than 1 GB: smaller items (like apps or updates) will install
with no problem. after i finally can get to the active downloads and cancel the download (sometimes the system doesnt stay on long enough for this to happen), i go into the storage and notice that the media is showing up as corrupt. like always i go through
all of the steps for removing the corrupt file and i look through all other storage to see if anything else is corrupt before clearing each cache 5 times and trying to download again. this seems to happen whenever i get more than halfway full on my hdd. i
have a microsoft-issued 120 GB on an xbox 360 arcade. it has 43.0 GB free and has never been damaged or otherwise mistreated.

Xbox having problems loading anything. Will only play external media device. Need fixed ASAP.

having downloading issues. Not letting me use any apps but external media player. Loading really slow if at all. Lots of error codes. Connected to internet just fine. What can I do or what do I do. Please help.

 

Trouble connecting to Xbox Live?

Are you only having these issues when you are attempting to play multiplayer games, or do you have connection issues when downloading or streaming media from the Xbox LIVE service?

Are you able to
configure a flash drive and then try downloading the game on that flash drive?

 

that could possibly work, but i paid my money for my 120 and if theres a way to fix it then i want to do that...i still have 43 GB left

I do understand, but this is to isolate the issue. I saw multiple threads with a similar issue where the hard drive needs to be repaired.

 

i see. i will try to find a flash with enough space for something that usually sets off the reboot loop. give me a few.
