    Help installing games on PC through Xbox app -- Error 0x00000001


    Hello, I'm trying to install Halo: The Master Chief Collection on my PC, a Lenovo Legion 7i, should be powerful enough to run it.

    Problem is, I'm trying to install it through Game Pass on a Seagate external HDD drive, and it won't install--it consistently gets stuck on"Progress 0%" for over half an hour before giving me an Error code 0x00000001.

    It's not just Master Chief Collection--other games like Yakuza and Control face the same issue with the same error code, unable to install.

    I tried looking up various solutions, none have worked. I have restarted my laptop, used PowerShell to restart gaming services, and downloaded the latest system update, yet I still cannot install any games while facing the same error code.

    I updated Windows 10 and my download finally worked. Plus the Enhanced graphics download.

    Do you get the same error message if you try to install the same game or another one on your system's hard drive?

    Also, try an in-place upgrade, it might help you.
