Help install the Xbox app.

I cannot install xbox app. I want to buy the PC game pass but this issue is unsolvable for me. When I download the installer, it never finishes installing the app. When I try the microsoft store, I dont get any option to install any of the apps, let alone the xbox app [See screenshot below]. How do I resolve this issue? I tried resetting and repairing the microsoft store but that doesnt work either.

Scratch the earlier reply. I restarted the PC after following all the steps and this time it worked. Thank you so much!

Welcome to Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today.

May I know what is the Windows edition, version and OS build is your device running right now? To check, got to Windows Settings > System > About and check under Windows specifications.

Kindly try first checking for updates and make sure that all available updates on the device are installed including Optional updates then try installing the app again.

If still the issue persists, proceed in repairing the Xbox Game Bar on the device by going to Windows Settings > Apps, select the Xbox Game Bar from the list of apps then click on Advanced options. On the next page, scroll down and look for the Repair button then click on it.

If in case still issue persists, kindly see this post with similar concern and try the suggested steps by XBF Diego M: Xbox app for pc wont install (I have 1903) - Microsoft Community.

Another step we could also try is to uninstall and reinstall the Gaming Services of the device by following the steps here: Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox app for Windows | Xbox Support. Expand the "Problems installing a game from the Xbox app" section and go to the "Remove and reinstall Gaming Services" option.

My OS build is: 19045.2673

Edition: Windows 10 Pro

When I tried "Problems installing a game from the Xbox app" section and go to the "Remove and reinstall Gaming Services" option.", it told to open the windows store through Powershell where once again I ran into the same issue where I cannot install the app through the windows store as it does not show any options to install as was the case in the earlier post screenshot.

I installed the optional updates and "Repaired" the game bar but issue still persists. The suggested step of "XBF Diego M: Xbox app for pc wont install (I have 1903) - Microsoft Community." also does not work as there are not undeleted files present in those folders.

Good morning,

I would try and uninstall the Cortana app and the Xbox app, and find a different network to connect to. Then install the Xbox app first and sign in, after re-install the Cortana app and see if that helped.
