    HELP: I can't connect to xbox live service


    @USAMAHASHMI - Can you connect your computer directly to your gateway and perform a basic IP connectivity test (ping) and post back with the result. Here's how:

    On your computer, open up a command prompt (on Windows press "Windowskey + R", then type "cmd" and press Enter. On Mac choose spotlight and type terminal).


    
Windows: In the black window that opens, type: ping epix.xbox.com -f -l 1364


    Mac OS X:     in the Terminal window, type: ping -D -s 1364 epix.xbox.com



    I'm going to ask you to try a somewhat unorthodox step, to set your DNS servers to Google public server. In order to perform this step, follow these instructions:

    1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.
    2. Select Network Settings.
    3. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
    4. Select Configure Network.
    5. On the Basic Settings tab, select DNS Settings.
    6. Select Manual.
    7. Select Primary DNS Server.
    8. Enter 8.8.8.8
    9. Select Secondary DNS Server.
    10. Enter 8.8.4.4
    11. Select Done again.
    12. Press the B button on your controller, and then select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.


    Let me know how that goes and don't forget to post back with the ping result.

    320 ms wow no wonder you cannot get connected if it takes a third of a second to get a ping back this is poor conductivity. Check with your isp / do speed test, do ping test, on internet service. I get this when the internet you are connected to is so
    busy you cannot get a proper request out. Ping times get over 200ms for me i get logged out of my internet service let alone the Xbox live.

    try www.pingtest.net and www.speedtest.net to test your internet connection speeds and ping times. If there is a problem with band width or timing this will show you the info needed to present to your service provider. used to only need 1Mb/s but since
    Xbox one came out I now need 5 Mb/s and can only get 3 so some games work some do not.

    In Canada I need minimum 1 Mb/s just to connect to Xbox live and 3 to 5 Mb/s to play online games.

    In Live status Service,Marketplaces and Accounts are ok, but Matchmaking have Service Alert and on left have link to service alert site.

    I tried this delete this catche 5 times. Not help.

    Solution 1: Check the status of the Xbox LIVE service

    If there are no Xbox LIVE service alerts, try the next solution.

    Solution 2: Test your connection

    Test the Xbox LIVE connection on your Xbox 360 console. Here’s how:

    On your console, go to Settings, My Xbox and then select System.

    Select Network Settings.

    Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network if you are prompted to do so.

    Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

    Do one of the following depending on your results:

    If the test fails and you can't connect to Xbox LIVE, see Can't connect to Xbox LIVE?

    If the Xbox LIVE service is available, try the next solution.

    If there is an Xbox LIVE service alert, try again later when the Xbox LIVE service is available.

    Solution 3: Open network ports

    If you have a firewall or are connected to a network through your workplace or school, you might need to open network ports in order for your Xbox 360 console to communicate with Xbox LIVE. See Network ports used by Xbox LIVE for help with opening network
    ports.
