help: How to fix high latency

Hello

i average between 250ms-1100ms latency at any given time whilst on the xbox one, and i want to know how to fix this.

I play from Australia so i understand a base ping of 180ms should be expected as the xbox servers are based in Seattle, but my xbox a lot of the time exceeds this by almost an additional 1000ms.

My connection is wireless, however when i test my laptop which has a wireless connection from the same position as my xbox using speed test i get the following stats:

50-60mb/s download

1.5 mb/s upload

~10ms ping

However on my xbox one, when i test detailed network statistics, i get stats like this:

20-30mb/s download

1mb/s upload

0% packet loss

1480 MTU

wireless strength 88%

Latency: 1000ms+

I've tested this with 2 different xboxs and at both on peak and off peak hours (even as late as 4am) and can still experience this high level of latency. Resetting my modem seems to fix this problem but only temporarily as the latency returns within 30 mins.

FYI i'm on Optus Cable and use the CG3000v2 modem

How to fix high latency!

hey everyone, so I recently switched over to satellite internet due to where I live in the country side. I have over 28.98 mbs download speed, 1492 MTU, 0% packet loss, but my latency is over 680 sometimes it's in the 700's. Any idea how I can fix this problem?

High "latency" on my Xbox One

hey guys.

I have high latency on my xbox, about 250-300, sometimes it even comes to 600.

How can I fix it?

If you can play online ok without any lag then don't worry about it I've heard you can get high readings testing the Xbox servers

The test on the xbox one is not very accurate,especially the further from the U.S. you live so I wouldn't put to much faith in it to be honest.

I'd use 2 or 3 of the different speed tests available online to get a better idea of your actual broadband stats.

That's the problem, i can't play online properly as half the time my bullet delay will correspond to 800-900ms at times (I've counted). Just weird considering its the only device on my network that exhibits these slow speeds

If You already connected Your Xbox One by wired to router, then You done all on Your side.

But where You got this number? In Xbox One settings in network test? If so keep in mind, that this not mean, that You have same latency for games. For example my latency in this test 215 ms, but my real latency for Titanfall servers 105 ms.

If ask why, it's because test servers and game servers are not at the same data center, at least not always. So what exact problem You have, You have high latency in games, that lead to some lags?
