    some one help please ! I have headphones turtlebeech xo with a USB stick that goes in my Xbox X playing call of duty campaign they're perfect BUT when I play online free 4 all I can hear game play bullets , grenade , etc but in the game lobby after the
    game

    I can't hear other players . When I blow into my mike the speaker symbol flashes but no other player has a speaker sign

    At first I thought I'm the only one mic ed up but this has happened on loads of occasions .

    I've been through all the settings on the Xbox and the game settings but not getting any where .

    Also my son in law plays upstairs with the same head set on grand theft auto with no problems.

    Xbox 360 controller turns off if I play Black Ops 2, shoot and have my headphones in.

    I just bought some new headphones, Turtle Beach XCI 360 headphones because I had the same problem with the normal xbox headphones and though my headphones were broken but I have the same problem. I know the headphones work, I tested the mic and whatever,
    but if I try and shoot my controller will straight away just turn off. Any suggestions?

    Are you able to try recording a message and then check if you can hear that message when you play it back? Also, let's be sure to check out all the steps in our

    headset troubleshooting guide
    . If those steps do not help can you also ensure that you have an

    open NAT
    as well? Give those guides a go and let us know if they help with hearing others while online.

    I can't hear voice audio well

    First of all Make sure the headphones are connected correctly, Check that the headphones are fully plugged into the corresponding port on your device. Make sure they are connected securely and there are no loose connections.

    Check audio settings, Check the audio settings on your device and on the specific games or apps you are using. Make sure the volume is set correctly and the audio balance is not shifted to one side.

    If the problem persists Try the headphones on another device Connect your headphones to another device, such as a mobile phone or a different computer, to see if the problem persists. This will help you determine if the problem is related to your headphones or the device you are using them on.

    When I use my headphone than the sound do not work, but when I don't use my headphone

    Then the sound works perfectly.

    Trouble Connecting Arctis 9X headset to Xbox series X

    I am very sorry for what you are going through, based on the information you have provided, it seems that the problem is related to the configuration of the headphones.

    Your headset may not be set up correctly to use the microphone with your Xbox series X.

    I've seen this problem before and there are a couple of things you can try to fix it:

    Check that the headphones are updated with the latest firmware. You can download the latest firmware from the SteelSeries website.

    Check that the headset is properly connected to the Xbox series X. Make sure the headset is turned on and in pairing mode.

    Check your Xbox series X sound settings. Make sure your headset is selected as the audio input and output device.

    Reset the headphones. You can reset the headphones by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.

    Here are some specific steps you can try:

    Update headset firmware

    Go to the SteelSeries website.

    Click the "Support" menu.

    Click "Product Updates."

    Look for the Arctis 9X headphones.

    Click the "Download" button to download the latest firmware.

    Once the firmware has downloaded, follow the installation instructions.

    Check the headphone connection

    Make sure the headphones are turned on.
    Press and hold the pairing button on the headphones for 5 seconds.

    On Xbox series X, go to Settings > System > Accessories > Headphones & Microphones.

    Select Arctis 9X headphones.

    If the headphones are connected correctly, you will see a message that says "Connected."

    Problems with headphones

    Could use a bit more information, like what kind of headset it is, there are tons of different headsets out there and they don't all operate the same way.

    My best guess is that you're using a headset that plugs into the 3.5mm jack and has no inline volume/mute buttons?

    Try this. Start at the Home screen. Press the guide button to bring up the slide out menu and navigate over to the system tab (should be the last one on the right if memory serves). You'll see a link to settings on that tab, but what you're looking for (and
    hopefully you'll see it) is a "audio" link just under it. If it's there, click on it and that will bring up a menu with volume and chat mixer options.

    You may also want to make sure your controller(s) are up to date, especially if it's a new headset, but I doubt this is the case, since you've already been in that menu and would've seen that there was an update available when you saw that the volume option
    is greyed out.
