Help getting xbox one to show back up on Vizio tv

Hey everyone, recently me and my roomate were having trouble getting the xbox one to turn on so we unplugged it so there could at least be tv watched. Now a month later, were trying to get the xbox one back up and running on the tv and are having no
luck, only the tv comes on now even though the xbox is on after plugging everything back.

I'm sure the xbox one is okay, it has to be something not being plugged in right. i tried to call best buy to see if someone can come out to look at it and they said home visits are 150$!!! i'm not paying that much for something so miniscule that can
probably be fixed in 10 minutes or less.

Any ideas what to do folks?

My TV screen is black upon start-up, but sound can be heard.

Ever since the latest "March update," whenever I turn my Xbox One on, my TV turns on, sound can be heard, but the screen is just black and shows nothing. I have a Vizio TV, and when I turn it on it should show a VIZIO logo, but now it doesn't. The light
at the bottom of the TV lights up, but the rest of the TV stays completely black. To solve this, I have just been unplugging my TV from the outlet and plugging it back in and it works. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks.

Screen edges cut off. Overscan issues.

I've been using my original Xbox One with the edges of the image on the screen cut off. First with my Vizio TV then the same problem when I bought a larger flat screen on Craigslist. About 2 years ago I spent hours on tech support and they never solved my
problem. TV Tech support says "call Xbox support" then when I called Xbox, they gave up and say "call Vizio support back" so I call them and they give up on me too. I've never been so totally failed by tech support. It's like my TV doesn't have the settings
to correct the issue and Xbox doesn't either? Help? I needed to rant about this. I hate always wondering what I'm missing at the edge of my game or Netflix show. Oh and I bought a big flat screen on Craigslist but it had the same problem. Now I'm back using
the original Vizio.

If you want to use your xbox to control your tv, then you want to plug your cable box or satellite into the hdmi in port on the xbox one. then you connect the hdmi out port of the xbox one to the hdmi in port on your tv(however to watch tv your xbox one
has to be on for the signal to pass through). I personally do not use the tv function of my xbox one,because I don't want to have to have my xbox on to watch tv. I have my cable box plugged into the hdmi in port of my tv, and my xbox one plugged into another
hdmi in port. Then when I want to play I just switch the input on my tv.

Is the Xbox One turning on but there's nothing on the TV? If so, check which HDMI port you used on the back; you should have the HDMI cable to the TV plugged into the port closest to the power supply (HDMI Out) and not the other one.

My TV, Vizio V655-G9, says in the manual it supports 4K UHD @ 60hz. However, my Xbox One S says my TV does not support 4K @ 60hz. So I can select 4K resolution in settings.

Everything is updated and I have tried many different ports and many different HDMI cables. Advanced settings is on Auto-Detect.

Hey so i ran into this issues with my older vizio as well. So you need to go into your tv settings or use the vizio smart cast app on your phone you can download it if you down have it and connect your tv to your phone but you need to go to your input settings
and select the hdmi port your xbox is connected to and turn on full UHD Color this allows the 4k image go back to your xbox tv and display options and check tv details if there not showing up sometimes restarting the xbox is necessary

The reason for this is the Xbox controls the TV's via an infrared signal emitted by the Kinect sensor. Because you have a Vizio at home, the kinect is calibrated and using the remote code for Vizio products, which makes it control the Vizio tv. You must
go through the TV and OneGuide troubleshooting to reset the device and set it up if you use a different tv.

I got a 32 " vizio from walmart for I think about $275 on sale last year, still works great. but look for 1 thing make sure the TV's speakers are in the front not the back of the tv makes a difference. I was gonna get a 37" vizio but the speakers were in
the back , when the guy put the volume up the 32" was a lot better and they were both at the same volume I think it was 42 out of a 100.
