Help for saved game data!

Hi,

I had saved my GTA 5 game progress on an external hard drive that was formatted to my xbox 360. I had to format it to a mac computer so i transfered every visible file (from a computer) to another hard drive and formatted it to exfat. I re-copied all files
back to the hard drive. Recently, i wanted to play GTA 5 and i could not because it told me i has to format a drive with at least 8GB etc. (the first time message). I went to system settings > storage and the drive where i had saved all my game data was listed
as "unformatted"... How do I recover my game data? Thank you!

Saints Row The Third Loading Problem

It could be the saved data for that game is corrupted, since it works when there is no HDD. I would suggest deleting the game data, as well as your cache. Hope that help!

How do you delete corrupt data from the Cloud?

Hi, here's how to delete Cloud saved data;

On Home, select My games and apps.

Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game.

In the menu on the left of the screen, scroll down to Saved Data, then highlight the saved data for your gamertag on the right and press the A button on your controller.

You'll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:

Select Delete everywhere as this removes your saved data from this console, the cloud, and all other consoles you play on.

I don't think you will be able to recover your data unfortunately. When you format a hard drive it wipes what's on it and makes it so that the device that formatted it can use it to store files. When you did that with your Mac computer it would of deleted
your GTA V save file. Yeah you will also have to format the hard drive for the Xbox 360 again, in order for it to save games or game saves. Look at the

Thank you very much for answering! It sucks to hear that, but can my online game progress still be recovered using my gamertag and xbox live account or was all that online data on the hard drive too? Thank you

Thank you for keeping up with us. The option to clear local saved data removes saved data from the console itself. As long as the console has a connection to Xbox Live, saved games are automatically stored in the cloud. If you have any games that you have
played while offline, we recommend going online with those games to upload the saved data to the cloud. Once all you saved data is secured on the cloud, we suggest clearing the local saved games. Sometimes an account may have trouble with collecting the saved
data from the cloud. This is where clearing local saved games can help. The option to clear local saved games will re-sync the saved data from the cloud to your account. We hope this helps!

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have question on save data. In short, yes the save data should work as it would be the same game. The save data is attached to your profile and saved to the cloud.

I’m sorry to hear that.

This sounds like there is corruption either in the game data or in the save file.

Do you have a save data file that is older then your current save data?

You could revert to the other save data to try to minimize loss, however if the save data is corrupted you will unfortunately lose all the save data and your progress.

A way to test it would be to back up your save data somewhere inaccessible by the game and then try to launch the game with a brand new save.

If the game works then you know it is corruption in your save data.
