Help - Failed Update has me in an infinite Loop - Can't do a factory reset or anything?

I'm about to just light this stupid thing on fire at this point...

So, a few weeks ago or so, there was an update. The update failed to install, and I've just been ignoring it since I wasn't really using the xbox much anyway. Well, now I've got another kid in the house that really wants to play, so I decide I'll go try to fix the situation. Unfortunately, I'm running into an infuriating infinite loop of stupidity and I can't seem to figure out how to deal with it, so I'm hoping someone here might be smarter than I am.

Here's the situation:

Update failed, and continues to fail on install. Code checked and MS recommends factory reset. Honestly, I'm fine with this, it's loaded with a bunch of **** that doesn't need to be on there anymore.

Attempt to do factory reset - it power cycles, and just goes back to trying to load the same update again.

So, go back into Troubleshoot, and set up a USB drive to do offline... but the XBox isn't detecting the USB drive in any slot.

So, basically, I can't figure out a way to force this stupid thing to just do a factory reset. Help?

Please confirm if when you did the process to reset you selected a factory reset deleting all content, of not you could try that

If the update fails during the download process you could try resetting the network hardware or use a mobile hotspot to connect the console

To be recognized the USB must have the files in the root directory, not inside folders

Tried factory reset, which as you warned me made things even worse - Stay Offline option is gone, so I'm now in infinite update loop with no ability to use the Xbox at all. Will try Microsoft store next weekend.

Update: Power-cycled again after failing to update during xbox setup (after having done factory reset), in which update got to same point, about 52%, before shutting down.

I'm now stuck in a loop where I can either run the update again, which fails, or turn off the xbox.

I'm looking into updating offline via another factory reset, but don't have a flash drive handy today to try this...

Go to your Xbox console settings then check your timezone and make sure it matches the timezone your in, then re-run the update and you should be good to go. That error code is related to the timezone.
