Help creating partitions on HD

Hi guys

Here's the thing. I recently bought an ADATA (HV100) 1TB HD and I want to make a partiction to use something like 700 GB for Xbox content (Saved games, DLC, Full games, etc) and the rest as a regular personal data storage device. Any ideas on how can I do
it? I'm using an Xbox 360 E console and when I plugged the HD it automatically formated the disk to be used with Xbox data, but I'm afraid that if I satrt saving my own not Xbox related files it may get corrupted, that's why I want to create partirions so
I can't mess with Xbox data with regular data. am I clear?

Is it possible to make 2 partitions on a extern HD

Is it possible to make 2 partitions on a extern HD...so that the xbox one will detect the 2 partitions

360 won't format

I believe it has to be 2TB because the 360 uses FAT32 file system which has a maximum partition size of 2TB.

You could try plugging the HDD into your PC, going to disk management then creating a 2TB partition on it. Although not sure if this will work as I haven't tried it.

Also if you don't know about creating or deleting partitions then you are better off not doing it in case you accidentally mess up the partitions on your PC.

I don't know if partitions work but you can use the drive for your own data. Just don't mess with the content folder which is usually hidden as that's where the xbox files are stored.

I use mine for other things and it doesn't cause any problems.

Good morning everyone,

Sorry for the delay to respond but it's because the process I used to solve the problem takes a lot of processing time, so I solved the problem.

After trying all that was said above I decided to follow a clue of the @PalmettoBling on the external hd. I did a more in-depth scan and found that the two games that were reappearing had been installed on the external hd before.

Once I had problems with hds on the PC that did not release all the space, due to "filth" in the partition, to solve the problem I wipe the partition with Partition Magic.

I decided to risk doing the same with the external hd used on the Xbox, backup some games that I did not want to download again and started the process of cleaning the partition.

After more than 12 hours the cleaning was completed and when I plugged the external HD back into the Xbox the "ghosts" games were no longer there. I think it's some dirt problem on partitions.

The tip is then for those who was or will have this kind of problem in the future. Back up the games and perform a wipe partition on Partition Magic, or whatever software you find most convenient.

Will the xbox 360 in a way partition my External HD into a 16GB Fat32 partition, and have a approx. 1.84 TB NTFS partition.

Now that you bring up all of those options, I'm wondering if we'll be able to partition the drive?

Games in 1 partition, HD movies in another. Music in another.

The request wasn't to format the E drive, but to create a partition and, that partition format it to NTFS
