Help Changing Gamertag

So I want to change my gamertag so that the Z and M in is capitalized. But the last time I tried to change it, I learned that gamertags are not case sensitive, so when I tried to change it said that the gamertag was already in use. Does anyone
know a work around to getting it changed? Would doing something like changing my gamertag to something completely different, like car for example, and then changing it back again to work?

Thinking of changing my gamertag. HELP!!!

I have had the same embarrassing Gamertag since I was like 8 back in 2006. Now I finally am thinking of changing it to seem cooler or more "professional".
Some Ideas I have
-Atsrobadgr (I use this on a few websites)
-rainbowtanuki (I'm gay and I like Japanese racoon dogs)

Well, if you want something more professional, I don't think either fit the bill. Perhaps professional isn't what you meant. But out of the two Astrobadgr is the better name, IMO.

And yes gamer tags are case sensitive always has been when looking for names

You would have to free up the name.first then wait till it's available again which could be immediately or months from now it's up to you

Note Gamer-Tags are also tied to services like zune or games for windows live. If a gt doesn't exist on xbox, it might be in use on one of those services. If you try sending the Gamer-tag you want a friend
request and it says it’s not a valid Gamer-tag that just means it isn’t used on xbox live, but it could be used for zune or gfwl.

One thing to remember is that spaces and capitalization don’t make your Gamer-Tag unique. For example, “”, “PR1NCEDARKNESS”, and “” They Are All The Same Gamer-Tags.

I don't think you can change with credit, though others can correct me if I am incorrect, but I think it has to be paid via credit card or debit card only.

Everything from your account will carry over. Currency, purchase history, Gamerscore ect...Unless you are using the one off free gamertag change then you will have to pay the fee as mentioned above. If it a free change, you lose nothing
