Help! Can't get past first screen

Last few times I have tried xbox I can't get past the initial green screen showing XBOX ONE. Appears as if the console is trying to start up but it never progresses past this screen. I have left it on for hours thinking it might be trying to update or
something. Have also tried the reset process with no joy. Any advice?

Can't get past home screen

I have tried powering off my Xbox three times already but I cannot get past the home screen. I can go to the right and explore mixer, community, entertainment, and store, but when I press the Xbox button on the controller it comes up with an error code.
And then when I go to the Xbox website for the error code it says there are no forums with this error code. If I can get some help on this I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Can't get past title screen

I downloaded the game when it was free with Xbox gold but whenever I am signed into a profile it always freezes at the title screen then boots me back to the Xbox one home screen. When I try to play while not signed into a profile it works just fine. I've
tried clearing the local Xbox 360 storage, restarted the Xbox, and uninstalled and reinstalled the game with no luck. Any help would be great

Sorry you're having issues with your console not booting up. Did you by chance notice an update or anything of that nature before this started?

As you stated that you tried the reset. Let's try it one more time. With the console on, hold the power button down for 5 seconds until it quickly shuts off. After that, turn the console back on and see what happens.

Do you have anything external plugged into the console? If you have a Kinect, external hard drive, or any other USB device, unplug them and then start your console to see if it starts up.

Green screens are often a result of a failed update. Try using the tool here Xbox One Update Troubleshooter.

 

Thanks HS, I have been able to move on from the green screen but now it seems stuck on an update? I have the console picture on screen showing the update status bar but it gets to about 70% through and goes no further. Any suggestions?

 

Further to the above post, the xbox just shut off and when I have rebooted, it goes to a black screen.
