Help buying a game for my son

Thanks for taking the time to reply, so I think I tried this last night and as the game is an 18 I’ve upped his limits to 19 and it still won’t allow him to buy? This is what I get… when I click yes to allow the game it then asks me to pay not him? Hope this makes sense?

If I understood correctly he has the balance on his account. Correct?

If yes, did you tried disabling "Ask to buy" temporarily to see if that helps?

If needed follow these steps:
"Sign in to your Family page with an adult Microsoft account.

https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

Find the child's name and select More options > Spending.
Under the Ask to buy section, switch Needs organizer approval to buy things to Off."

Just to confirm, if you try testing with a different item (one with a lower age filter) the same happens?
(You can go to checkout and see if he can use the balance)
