HELP!!! Bingo app crashed on startup.

Bingo just show me 'Connection in progress...' for a while and then crashed, in about 15~20 seconds.

I checked message from windows event viewer:

Bingo has crashed again, twice today, it was only up for a few minuets.

Have you made sure to manually check for Windows updates? If not, please do so and install any missing updates, then select Restart on your device.

 

Hi all! Just letting you know that I just passed this bug along to the Bingo team so we can get it fixed. Thank you so much for letting us know about it!

 

So I am testing it now with a Surface 3 and it seems if you maximize the app from the taskbar after the crash (instead of restarting it- you'll see the Bingo logo in the taskbar), the app runs normally. However, this starting crash is still unusual and it's
still filed as a bug.

Note: You need to restore it from the taskbar right after it crashes- if you wait too long, it won't work.

Another user reported better performance with Bingo after turning off the Adaptive lighting option in Settings but that may be unrelated to this error.

 

Thanks for the response. I have tried that with no improvement. Same thing with the left-sidebar and Alt+Tab.

 

Okay, I have been playing around with this for the last few hours and believe I have figured out what the issue is.

1. Make sure your Adaptive Brightness is set to OFF for both battery and plugged in. You can find this option in Advanced Options under Power Settings.

2. Check your monitor refresh rate. Go to Display, Adjust Resolution, Advanced Settings, Monitor tab. If it's not on 60hz, change it to that.

3. Next click on the Color Management tab & click on Color Management. Click on the Advanced tab in the Color Management window.

4. Click on Calibrate Display under Display Calibration and follow the wizard.

After doing this, I now can start Bingo without the soft-crashes, without the screen flickering. No more errors!

 

I tried all those steps, but it still isn't working on the Surface Pro 3. The flicker has stopped, but as soon as it gets to the loading screen and the music starts, it freezes for 5-10 seconds and then crashes. :-(

 

I am also experiencing a similar issue. I get a blue screen after it finishes loading and the music just starts then the app crashes and restarts. I am using a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2.

 

Try the steps listed two posts above yours and see if that helps you out. It's helped some people out.

 

Same issue with Bingo on Surface Pro 3 - tried steps above without success - any chance of getting it patched?

The issue should have been resolved with a recent update.

Please see if the following resolves the issue for you:

1. Go to Display, click on ClearType settings on menu to the left

2. Uncheck the ClearType box & click next at the bottom of the window.

3. Go through the rest of the wizard by hitting next, do not change any settings. Hit finish.

4. Restart.

5. Go to Display properties. You'll see a property at the bottom to change the size of various system text. Set the title property to bold.

6. Run the ClearType wizard again, again changing no settings.

7. Restart.

8. Go back to the system text settings. Remove the bold.

9. If Bingo still doesn't work, run the ClearType wizard again now that it is not bold & restart.

10. Bingo should be working now.

 

this bug has nothing to do with clear type on the surface pro 3, the issue and it can be confirmed with any device that has a resolution width greater than 1920. to fix this one has to continue to change screen resolution. i reported this on the facebook
page over 6 months ago. i am dissappointed that this bug has not been fixed yet.

 

i'm having the same problem on my surface pro 3. Tried all the above, but it still crashes and won't start. I did the screen resolution change and it works. Need to fix it so it works with the surface pro 3 native resolution. It's a pain having to change
the screen resolution every time I want to play.
