Help..! Best router for multiple Xbox ones

    Hi,

Heres the situation. i have two Xbox ones. One is on the ground floor which my younger brother games on and is directly wired to the router via a standard Ethernet cable. Mine is on the 3rd floor connected via CAT6a ethernet cable through power line adaptors.
The Xbox one still doesn't let us game together as im always getting dc/d for some weird reason. Was told being wired would eliminate this issue yet it still persists. It's fine when I game on my own. It's just when I play with my younger brother and friends
that it causes issues. Tried port forwarding and all the other malarkey but I read after spending hours researching my current router with my isp is not capable enough and thus have to upgrade by buying a new router. Now here's the question what router shall
I buy..? I'm stuck between net gear nighthawk I think it's called and the asus dark knight. I don't mind cashing out as I have the money and willing to spend whatever needed if it's reasonable. Any advice please help or recommendations to eliminate this multiple
Xbox ones playing online issue.. Thank you for your help.. Much appreciated

    :)

  4. Help..! Best router for multiple Xbox ones

    Hi buddy,

Personally I use a Netgear N900 (v2) router and that works great. Any router that cost more than $100 should do the trick though. Cheap routers, especially the ones that ISP's provide, have very poor UPNP implementation, if any.

Although it's not a direct answer to your question, I hope it helps. If money's no object I'd probably go for the Netgear R7000.

Thanks mate il check that out.. I'm just confused here on between netgear nighthawk r7000 or asus dark knight rt a6uu.. They both seem decent and been told they have better UPNP implementation in comparison to ISPs routers so I hope that will sort out
gaming on multiple xbox one consoles in the same house.. Appreciate the advice

Best modem/router or router for multiple Xbox One consoles on same network

I have the main console hard wired in the living room which is where the gateway sits. The other xb1 is downstairs and the ps4 upstairs so both are quite a ways away and would have to drill through walls for hard wire.

I will either buy a modem and seperate router or I will continue to rent the Arris from Comcast and use it as a bridge to a better router. Looks like I'm headed to Microcenter.

You are definitely headed down the right path. My suggestion would be to bridge that Arris and purchase a top of the line home router such as Netgear or Linksys. That seems to be the best configuration for gaming with multiple consoles.
