Help! Accidental purchase

I purchase Just Cause 4 digital download for xbox for my garndson for Christmas. This is my first time doing something like this, and I purchased on my account instead of as a gift. I contacted Microsoft to request and exchange and was told I must get
a refund and repurchase. Then the refund was denied. What options do I have?

I considered that but will that allow him to play with his friends since it is under my user name and if there are any inapp purchases can he access his money on his account?

Unfortunately if the refund was turned down you don't have many other options. You could email back the refund team on the email you received turning down your refund claim

I can think of one other option you do have, but it may not be suitable for you, and your situation.

You could always
set your grandsons Xbox One as your home Xbox, this would allow him to play Just Cause 4 as if he owned it, just keep in mind that this will mean he has access to all your digital games and subscriptions.
