Help accessing an account

Hi please help I am clueless. My son's xbox one was asking for him to update so he did but now he can't get into his account. He needs to know the micosoft details - email address and password but his dad set this up who can't help him. His dad doesn't
remember the email address or password and doesn't have the mobile number he used at the time. It's now left in my hands to sort but I can't seem to get support from xbox online chat it just says connecting to an agent. He knows his username for his game and
has about 6 months of live gold membership left so I am reluctant to set him up a new one plus he has a fortnight skin!!!! Please help any advice would be much appreciated.

Well the problem is he doesn't ever remember making one, and the only email address he ever remembers having never had a Microsoft account until I made one the other day.

And when you go to your list of profiles on your console, and under your gamertag it says "Xbox Live", that means you currently have Gold or had to of had it in the past, right?

If so, is there anyway of retrieving the Microsoft account using only a gamertag, or possible to sync a new Microsoft account without access to that gamertags account settings?

Sorry for all of these questions, I've just looked everywhere and am at a loss.

Hey again Ganja! No worries on all the questions, I'm happy to help. =)

If the gamertag says "Xbox Live" then that means it has been connected to Xbox Live at some point (with an email address/Microsoft Account attached).

Since you don't remember anything about that Microsoft Account, I suggest using the
Contact Us page to set up a support call with an account specialist. If they're unable to assist, ask to be escalated to the Advocacy Team. They specialize in this type of scenario and would be best equipped
to help you out.

If Dad set it up as a child account for his own Microsoft account, then he can find it in the Family section of the
Microsoft Account website. Otherwise, your sole option may be the account recovery process, and that will involve contacting
Xbox Live Support. When prompted, you should decline the virtual agent and perhaps choose a different option (if available), such as requesting a callback.
