If you get the Xbox One version, it will run the Xbox One Version on the Series X. You won't get any optimisation on the game except you have the Series X|S version

There is going to be an Xbox One version of the game, but no news about an Xbox Series S/X version. Most likely it will come to the Series X/S as a backward compatible title. But as I say no news yet.

Only if the game allows, there is a game that does not have the backward-compatible version and it is only possible to install the version for Xbox Series S/X. If the game allows, you should see 2 game icons in your library, a backward-compatible version and one for the Xbox Series S/X.

Because on my Xbox series x, it only shows 'Optimized for series x/s' but if a xbox series x version of a game is NOT 'optimized' how would i know if I'm playing a series x/s version of a game?

Most games launched for both the Xbox One and Series S/X consoles if installed on a Series S/X console will just download and update the necessary files to run optimized to the Series S/X console.

Now F1 2022 has two versions: the Standard Xbox One version and the Series S/X version. I'm not really sure, but I think the Standard Xbox One version will not update to the optimized Series S/X as it is a different game version.

Do you have the Standard Xbox One version?
