    hello, I recently wanted to try downloading the java version of minecraft but it seem each time I try to download it the microsoft store crashes. I cant even download the minecraft launcher but the windows version seems to download just fine. I did purchase minecraft back when it was only the windows version and not combined with the java version. Do I need to buy the game again? I tried everything to resetting the microsoft store to reinstalling it but nothing seems to work.

    I understand that you are having trouble installing Minecraft, and I understand your confusion.

    Perhaps you can try downloading the Minecraft launcher through the Xbox app and the Minecraft website. Then use it to download the version you need.

    You can also try the following steps to reinstall the game services:

    • Delete the game service: Go to start - Search for PowerShell - Right click - Run as administrator. Type the following command and press enter:
    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    • Reinstall the game service:
    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Why is it making me pay for the java version of minecraft if I have bedrock?

    We totally understand that you want to play Minecraft Java version.

    The Java version of Minecraft is a separate game from the Bedrock version, and it is not included with the Bedrock version. If you want to play the Java version, you will need to purchase it separately. However, if you have already purchased the Java version, you can redeem a code to get the Bedrock version for free. You can find more information on how to do this on the Minecraft website.

    I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

    If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?
