No worries, as long as your account privacy is set to be able to communicate with your friends then you should be able to send in-game invites. Unless you and your friends need to set the communication from the game settings because you will need assistance from in-game support for that. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner for you to get back to gaming.

Based on your description, you can send voice chat invites but not on in-games. So, let us check if your account was set for that, if you have not reached the legal age in your country, please provide this to your parents so they may manage your privacy settings (as you will have no access for this).

Go to https://account.xbox.com/settings

Click the gamertag in the top right and allow the option for You can play with people outside of Xbox live, you can create and join clubs, join multiplayer games and for the chat for people that is not your friends, please go to Privacy and look for Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites.

Please make sure that the steps here are performed and taken to the account all the possibility while playing the games. Please let your parents know and have them decide for this.

I hated voice messages and am glad that they've been removed (or haven't been re-added). If Voice Messages are brought back, please give people the ability to DISABLE sending/receiving voice messages. I hated having to stop everything I was doing to listen
to a slow and long voice message. The new text messaging does exactly that now unless you're in a party chat.

But I agree, please fix the bugs with Party Chat and make 'Party Chat' default when you create or join a party. No more 'Turn On Party Chat' after joining.

I have also notice that the Invite to Party feature has gone and only the Private Chat one is still there were you can Invite to Voice Chat.

Party chat is better since people can come and go but with the Voice Chat it locked

Invites are an invitation to play a game or talk in chat with that person. For example lets say we both play Fortnite, I send you an invite for a party, due to we get in the same squad and then we can talk and collaborate easier to get that win. We all get
the rogue invites. Personally I ignore them if I do not know the person. We recommend trying a party chat or partying up in a game with a friend so you can get a feel for it. When you sent invite, you sent one for a party chat, that is where you can talk
to each other over the Xbox like a phone call.
