Hello Am New!

Hi guys. I am thinking of purchasing an xbox one next week. I am getting rid of my PS4 after a year of having non stop issues with it and crashing the first few months.. Can someone tell me how the xbox one has been good for you? My friend and I are going
to pick up one and was just wondering how it is? I like the fact that it has TV on it as well and the app section but i'm not a huge fan of apps but more of the games...

Welcome to Xbox Live and the forums. I believe that all new Xbox consoles come with a few free games installed on the hard drive, so you could also check there for some pre-installed demos and I think there is a little game or two on there as well. (On some
Xbox systems anyway) Either way, I hope you enjoy it here.

 

bought mine on black friday. can tell you I have rarely turned it off when im not at work lol. Being able to watch direct tv on it makes it better. As for the games, well im back to being addicted to them after rarely playingy 360 the last few years. Go
for sunset overdrive now thats its on sale. That and unity for fun adventure games. if you want shooters, halo is there for you and now with fixed mp... its a blast.

MarvelHero, can you explain the TV part of your statement to me? You have directv, so do I, how does sending the signal from the dvr through the X1 before going to the TV set make anything better? I'm just wondering what the X1 adds to the equation.

 

If you're all about the games then it might be worth hanging on until the Summer.

Neither the PS4 or X-One have a great track record for games at the moment. Been a pants start for both as it's been the only gen where niether format has released a legendary game from the off. This is what new consoles used to be about the most, but these
days its all about what the machine can do, not what games it has from the get-go.

 

I like the fact that you can watch your TV on xbox one and play games at the same time.. My only question is how do you share your games so your friends can play them if you do not have them? PS4 does that so I was wondering if X-One has that feature

 

Also, when you live stream on xbox one how do you let the audience hear you and your friend talk while on skype?? Instead of just having one person talk in skype

Ah, that's probably what the other poster was alluding too. I guess that makes sense if that's something a person wants to do. I sometimes listen to a sitcom while playing 360, which I do by putting my surround sound on tv while the tv itself is actually
tuned to the 360. That works since the surround and the tv are both connected independently to the dvr/tuner.

However myself, and this is just my own preference, I don't think I'd want to try and watch tv and a video game at the same time. I'd be to distracted looking back and forth.

 

The graphics are better than the 360. My wife now wants to get 1080 display tv to see the better graphics. You will have download some blueray/media player/etc apps to get some things to run.

I have two occasional problems. 1 If I power up the x1 before I set my tv to hdmi port I get some sound problems. 2. Destiny; if I directly shut down the system, I get "unplug you router for minute" error when I try to log back in.

The price drop is going away with the holidays so be aware of that. And the games library is not all that robust.

 

The only thing I will be complaining about is that my xbox one froze on me twice and that was it.. Kinda upset about that BUT that is okay it's working okay for now.. I downloaded AC4 black flag and AC Unity
