Hearts of Iron IV won't work on Microsoft Store

So I installed the Microsoft Store version of Hearts of Iron IV with game pass on my computer a few weeks ago and I've been playing it a lot since. I haven't really had any problems aside from it being a bit slow but that's just because I'm playing on
a laptop. In the past two days or so, I noticed that when I click play on the Microsoft store, it doesn't launch. The game completely broke. I can't pin to start or taskbar, even though it was previously on my taskbar. It says it's installed but it's not in
my library or among my installed games. I can't uninstall it and when I click install it just immediately installs and nothing changes. I don't think it's because I'm on a laptop because like I said the game was going fine the other dozen times I played it.
I tried installing the Cadet edition, which I only just realised was free with gamepass but it comes up with Install on my Devices. When I click that, it can't seem to find my laptop, even though anything else I try and install can. I really want to fix this.
I got addicted to it and now that I can't play it it feels like the time I played Fallout 4 for free and got halfway through only to find out the next day that it was only free for that day. Can anyone help?

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that Hears of Iron IV is not able to start launching at all on your Windows 10 computer. Does this issue occur with other games or only Dirty Rally 2? We recommend making sure that
Windows 10 is up to date. Also, we have a support article which provides

Does it happen to that particular game only?

Let's try to verify and repair its game files first.

Open the Xbox app for Windows.
In My Library, select the game title.
Select the More options (…) button and choose Manage.
Select Files and then Verify and repair.

Please make sure that your Windows is up-to-date and check for updates on your Microsoft Store Library.

The problem is just with Halo MCC. I was able to download Hearts of Iron IV and am downloading Gears Tactics just fine

I was able to try each of the things you suggested but unfortunately that did not work. The DLC appears installed in the MS store and in the Xbox app, and in the paradox launcher the DLC is enabled but in game each dlc is still locked and says to purchase them in the MS store.

Please try this:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too, after this sign out from your account on both Xbox app and Microsoft Store.

Then do this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Finally do this:

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

Sign in again with the account that owns the game and DLC on both Xbox app and Microsoft Store and try again
