  1. hearing chat but not game audio for xbox series x controller

Hi, I recently got a series x controller and when I was playing a game on it, I could hear my party chat but not the game's audio through it. I'm using a generic headphone and mic with an audiojack. I tried it on my xbox one controller and xbox one console
and it worked there. Is there a setting I need to change?

    :)

Audio messages(I can't hear them when run games)

When i talk audio message i mean AUDIO MESSAGE NOT PARTY CHAT.

    Party chat is not message.

And when i power on my console series x and previews xbox consoles(For example xbox one s) when i am at menu the audio messages work fine i can hear them normally but when i run any game(EXCEPT FOTZA HORIZON 5) any audio message send or receive i CAN'T listen it.

Will XBox Series X support external DAC/Amp hardware via USB?

There are multiple articles stating audio compatibility via USB. If optical is necessary, there are various HDMI to optical devices available which you may need to add.

    https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/09/02/designed-for-xbox-new-look-continuous-compatibility/

"Some gaming headsets that utilize an optical cable may require a firmware update to support game and chat audio over USB on Xbox Series X. Soundbars and headsets that do not receive updates may be connected
directly to your televisions optical port."

    Xbox Headset Adapter compatibility

but can still use the adapters, they work fine. better for instant control instead of using the useless dash controls. also better sound too.
The adapter is definitely better....I can barely hear the audio if I plug it directly into the controller on both my headset and earphones and, yeah, the audio is much better quality.

Downside is the battery life sucks if using the controller wirelessly!!

To the OP: Yes, the official Microsoft One Audio Adapter is fully functional with the Series X controller as I use one with mine....the ones that don';t work properly are the 3rd party ones (Turtle Beach and such like) which lose chat/game mixing from the adapter

XBOX ONE Headset Adapter issue with TB X12s

Ran into several issues getting my old Turtle Beach PX3s setup with the Xbone via the stereo adapter. It's possible your issue is due to the way the adapter splits the mix between the game audio and the chat audio, which conflicts directly with how the older
    headsets work.

On the adapter, on the left side, are two icons - the top looks like a controller [this is game audio] and the bottom looks like a person [this is the chat audio]. Clicking on one or the other changes the distribution of game vs. chat in the mix. If you
click the controller, the mix goes in favor of the game audio. If you click the chat icon, the mix favors the chat levels. Try clicking the chat icon until you hear a beep in your headset - this changes the audio mix coming from your controller to 100% chat
    audio and 0% game audio. [FYI - each click changes the distribution by 25% it seems - 0/100, 25/75, 50/50, 75/25, 100/0].

You should now hear your friends. Moreover, you can enjoy MUCH better sound quality and perfect control of the game vs. chat volumes using your headsets controls [NOT the xbox stereo adapter].

I was experiencing all sorts of problems until I worked this out. Unlike our older consoles, the Xbox One sends both game and chat audio to newer headsets via the controller. Back in the day, only chat came from the controller - game audio was delivered
by connecting to the back of your TV or console.

I realized my PX3s, on the Xbone, sounded really bad. Game audio was dropping out, skipping, would drastically change in volume, and at times, I couldn't hear the chat audio and had an impossible time trying to balance the mix. The problem is that, when
I connected the cable to the controller, my headset was receiving two game audio streams [one from the controller and one from the wireless unit connected to my console].

Once I figured out exactly how the MS adapter worked, I was able to mute the game audio coming from the adapter and boost the chat audio to 100%. Now, I can use the controls on my headset to balance the game vs chat audio.

The PX3s sound perfect - exactly as they did on my 360. I've also applied this "fix" to a friends' setup using a pair of X42s.

In conclusion, just hit that little chat icon on the adapter until you hear the beep and you should be fine. Hope that little bit helps.

I have Mic monitoring turned off, but I can still hear myself on party chat

    Hi again NatisuNeDraek.

Oh sorry i was thinked you have the problem with an pc try this troubleshootings

    Double-check Mic Monitoring:

Ensure microphone monitoring is truly disabled. Go to Settings > Audio > Headset & Speakers > Microphone > Mic monitoring and confirm it's set to "Off".
If you're using a headset with a dedicated mic monitoring control, check if it's turned off as well.

    Update Controller Firmware:

Outdated controller firmware can sometimes cause audio issues.
Connect your controller to your Xbox Series X using a USB cable.
Go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.
Select your controller and check for updates.

    Check Chat Overlay:

Sometimes, the in-game chat overlay can cause audio feedback.
While in a party or game chat, open the guide by pressing the Xbox button on your controller.
    Select "Parties & chats".
Check if the "Show chat overlay" option is enabled. Disable it and see if the echo disappears.

    Restart Console and Headset:

A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
Turn off your Xbox Series X and your headset completely.
Wait for 30 seconds and then turn them back on.

    Try Different Audio Output:

If you're using TV speakers, consider trying headphones or a different headset to see if the issue persists.
This can help isolate the source of the problem.

    Check Headset Connection:

Ensure your headset is properly connected to your controller or the Xbox console itself.
Disconnect and reconnect the headset to ensure a secure and stable connection.

    Update Audio Drivers:

If you're using a USB headset, update its audio drivers on your PC.
This can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with your Xbox Series X.

I really hope your problem has been fixed with my help, have a nice day. Oskayra
