Headsets Work On Some Controllers, But Not Others (With Everything Else Being The Same)?

So with everything else being equal, it seems that my headset only works on one or two of the controllers that I've tested out of eight (between me and my friends). The account is the same. All are updated. The settings are the same. The headset is enabled.
I plug the headset (Turtle Beach) into controller A, and I see a headset icon on the top right. I try with controller 2, no luck. Controller 3, no luck. Etc.

A friend of mine comes down and does the same test. He has a different model headset with two controllers, neither of which work with his headset. We repeat the tests on mine, and with two different headsets, the same controllers give the same results.

Is it that simple that some of these controllers are just poorly designed with the 3.5mm connection that no headsets will work on them, as many people have said in various forums? Or can someone else give me some more hints or tips to try, as Ive scoured
the internet and tried everything over the last little while.

Microphone only works for about 3-5 seconds, then cuts out and nobody can hear me.

I'm having the same exact issue. Ive tried controllers and headsets that work fine on other consoles and my headset and controller works fine on other consoles as well so I've eliminated that as the issue. Not sure what else to try.

 

Xbox USB Headset Mic Problem

I have a xbox one in which last week my USB headset mic stopped working (I can hear others but my mic doesn't get picked up. In my troubleshooting I just tried a new headset usb. And it did not work either. Then I tried a new controller with same issue.
After trying some other things I took my controller and headset over to my friend house and tested. The headset worked fine. Me thinking that I have a bad xbox went out and bought the new xbox one s. Guess what the same problem occurred. Now I am thinking
that its my profile. So I checked privacy settings and everything looks to be allowed. I then signed out of my xbox live account and used my brothers account but still have the same issue. Not sure whats going on or if updating the controller upon setup broke
some driver within the xbox.

If I connect a 3.5 headset to my controller the mic works fine. Just USB is having the problem.

ALso to Note My NAT IS open. Anyone else reporting this type of issue. It is quite odd.

Yup all controllers have the latest firmware. Double and triple checked all of them.

You can try making sure the batteries are fully charged or by using a Micro USB cord connecting the controller directly to the Xbox One Console. It is possible that it could be the controllers themselves.
