Headsets suddenly not working

I got on my Xbox today like any other day, and hopped straight into a party with my friend and started chatting. I set my controller down for a second to look at something on my computer, next thing I know I hear my friend calling my name to check if I'm
still there or not. This is when I realized something was wrong. First I tried the typical stuff, unplugging and plugging back in, power cycling, checking NAT type, rebooting my internet, checking for controller updates, checking for console updates, just
running through ever possible scenario I could think of.

Next I thought that it could be my mic had died so I purchased a new one, got home thinking my problem would be solved and lo and behold it wasn't. So after hours upon hours of researching around the web and trying every possible fix I could find dating
all the way back to launch I still couldn't fix my problem.

So that is when I decided to come and post my very first post on the Xbox forums. I'm hoping maybe someone on here can tell me what I can do to fix this problem or if it is something Microsoft is working on fixing, because as far as I can tell this is not
a problem on my end but I may be wrong. Also I am a member of the Xbox one preview program. (don't know if that has anything to do with it)

Controller not detecting headset

Controller suddenly won't detect headset. Headset works - have tested this. Controller is fine have tested this. Tried every troubleshoot and have reset the Xbox 1. Nothing is working?

Xbox one headset

i was playing on my xbox when my pad ran out of charge and after I'd plugged my charger in an my headset suddenly stopped working

this problem was introduced with the last dashboard update, you could the only solution that works so far is to use a complete wireless headset like the turtlebeach stealth 500x, as these are not connected to the controller for the partychat/gamesound. there
is also another problem with the controllers having a disconnection problem that happens randomly.

IF you are not keen on getting the wireless headset there get a play and charge kit have your controller hooked up with the usb cable for it to act as a wired controller and use either the MS stereo chat adapter or the built in 3.5mm jack for the newer controllers.this
lessens the disconnection issue. and if a disconnection happens check in the settings/devices and accessories if the controller is assigned to you if not assign it and your mic should be registering for the chat.

Im getting close to having this issue for a month and microsoft have said almost nothing of any substance on the problem, what a fun waiting game.

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums I understand there is an issue with connecting a headset to the Xbox
One Controller.

I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:

If the problem persists:

Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.
Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on another controller, try
updating the first controlleragain.
If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
Xbox Online Service Center.

Try this out and let us know the results.
