headsets not working after last update Xbox one

Is anyone else having an issue like this after the last update? My xbox one automatically updated october 14th almost 8pm. I was using my headset prior to this and it was working perfectly fine and bam comes the update and now it’s not completely working
as it should. I can hear the game perfectly and my friends can hear me but I can’t hear them at all. I thought my headset was just faulty and stopped working suddenly so I bought a completely different one, but I’m still having the same problem. I realized
when I go back to my messages with my friends on fb messenger I was telling them of this issue the day of (october 14th) the update. Yes I also tried updating my controller a million times as well hard resetting my xbox one. The headsets are fine. The problem
is the last update but what can I do from my end now

connect your pad with a usb to micro usb data cable to your xbox that should do it ,its been a common fault since last febuary......hope it works 4 u DRTHEGOOD

Are you plugging your headset into your controller? If so then have you checked the console Chat Mixer settings to see if it has been set to 100% Game Audio? The newer Dashboard has the Chat Mixer at the bottom of the Xbox nexus Home tab (bottom right speaker
icon). If you see the Headset Chat Mixer slider is all the way to one side (eg Game) then move it towards the other side. Normally it would be at 50/50 mark.

If you have an older Dashboard then you'll have to look for the tab that includes the Chat or Audio setting (sorry, I don't recall whether everyone has been updated to the newer Dashboard style yet) and check/change the adjustments there.

If you have a wireless headset (eg Astro A50 series) then the Chat Mixer setting is adjusted on the headset itself. I'm guessing you don't have this type headset though as the Chat Mixer setting usually resets back to the middle (50% Game, 50% Chat) every
time the console is restarted. Note that when an Astro A50 series is connected, the console Chat Mixer settings are grayed out since you have to make the adjustments on the headset itself.

I have 5 controllers and I have tried them all. I've updated each controller with headset attached.

I am not enrolled in any preview program.

A few YouTube videos also said plug headset into a cell phone and back into controller. Nothing.

This started after the last Xbox one x update. Before that everything worked just fine.

I updated my controller last night. And then today when I bought the Xbox One stereo headset, I had to update it again. Worked fine for me both times.

If your Xbox one Controller doesn't work or gets disconnected after you plug in your Stereo Headset Adapter, unplug your adapter,
and then update your controller without the adapter. After the controller is updated, insert your Stereo Headset Adapter back into the controller.
