Headsets not picking up mic

Ive been having this problem since october, I have a xbox one stereo headset i hear the game and my friends but when it comes to me speaking my mic isn't getting picked up. So I thought something was wrong with my headset so i went and bought Turtle Beaches
ear force XO One and that ended up in the same situation as my xbox stereo headset same problem. Ive had replies from xbox and they keep on stating that something is wrong with the headsets but it can't be that a brand new headset is having the same issue
as the old one. Has anyone else had the same issue?

i got a brand new xbox one headset and the mic is not working. i can hear other people but my mic not picking up any sound .

i have had the exact same issue. thought the mic on the original headset had fizzled. updated the controller. nothing. so i bought the stereo adapter so i could use a pair of headphones i have with a built-in mic. nothing. i can hear party members, but they
can't hear me. i bought a new controller thinking the controller's plug was bad. fresh out of the box at full battery i had the exact same problem. i'm now almost $100 into trying to solve this issue. super frustrated.

 

because you have to make sure your network ports are open on your router to support chat

 

nothing wrong with my ports, I'm able to use a pair of android headphones as a headset

 

Hello Brunette,

Go to Settings>All Settings>Kinect & Devices>Devices & Accessories and make sure that your controller is assigned to your profile.

Now do a power cycle (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) and then try again to talk in parties.

I am also having the same issue. For about a month now. I have a tried two headsets on two different controllers and I can hear everyone, but my mic does not working. I bought a new controller with the 3.5mm jack and the issue persists with a different
headset. Also, my network is fine since I am able to have everything work through the kinect. However, I want to use my headsets.

I have hard rebooted network equipment and the console several times, logged out and in. Played ith numerous settings and nothing will work.

Please help.

 

I'm going to reply here as I am having the same problem. I have gone through all solutions offered by twitter and phone support. Nothing works. I bought a stereo adapter too but it did not help. I have reset everything, ensured Nat and ports are open and
my controller is updated and assigned to me. Phone support told me I was a preview Update subscriber, but I am not.

Additional info is that Kinect chat is also muted. It' as if the console itself is now muted and refusing to unmute. I do see a mic icon in both fire team and party chat, but no one can hear me in either mode. There is clearly a bug somewhere if I am not
the only one experiencing this. The only thing that has been added to my machine in the past two weeks is the free Theif game. GT . Let's get this resolved.

seems like were all having the same issue, 3rd party headsets are not working

 

Same exact problem have tried multiple compatible headsets still no mic. All port are open worked fine until very recently. I think this has to be an issue with the software.
