Headsets keep breaking..

I'm bought my xbox one about two years ago, and since then I've owned two chat headsets. The first one broke within about eight months or so, so I bought another, and now this one has broke in the same exact way. I can hear people perfectly fine, but I cannot
talk, and when I can talk all my friends here is a plastic-filled tornado sound. I'll also add that the mic has been broken for about a day now. I am not on mute, the party chat is not muted, I have an open NAT type with a wired connection, I updated
my controller, I rebooted my xbox and power cycled it, I reset my MAC address, I have done everything. I even took apart the old headset to see if I could identify any ripped or disconnected wires, and I didn't find anything. This is extremely aggravating,
as these piece of crap headsets are $25. Anybody know a way to fix this, or a way I could get a free replacement? I'm pretty sure I'm out of warranty, though.

Xbox One headsets keep breaking...

I've been through 2 headsets and both have gone to the point where I can only hear people talking, but can't reply. I got my latest one in March and I'd rather not buy one if it's going to break once again.

Pay cheap pay twice as the old saying goes your best bet is to put some more money towards a better quality headset maybe might not be what you wanted to hear but best way to go in the long run !!

 

Same problems with my headset. I'm currently on headset number 6. The headsets are junk, but I don't like using the ones that cover both ears so I've stuck to the standard headset.

 

8 months for a very cheap headset sounds like good value for money to me, if you want them to last longer think about how you store them and how you put them into storing, I shoved mine in a basket with loads of other junk and they broke alot, I now hang
them up away from everything and they don't break.

 

I'm having the same issues. I just broke my 3rd headset in about 9 months. I'm just waiting until they release a wireless chat set, similar to what they had for the 360 that was the same style as a bluetooth piece. I've had that now for about 5 years and
it still works like new
