    Headsets and new 3.5mm controller... + Which headset?


    So I have an old turtle beach headset cut a long story short...

    I use a 2-1 3.5mm jack adapter (the headset has mic and audio jack) and plug that in the xbox one audio adapter. Then plug the USB from the headset into the mains or xbox one and it works, get game audio through the headset and everything.

    Now if I try this with the new controller with the 3.5mm port, the headset acts as the standard 1 ear piece xbox one headset. Chat audio on one side and mic working, that's it.

    Apparently (spoke to xbox support) the new controllers don't work with headsets that have two 3.5mm cables even if you use a 2-1 converter like I do.

    So, I don't actually have an xbox audio adapter it was my friends.

    I am looking for a headset with these requirements:

    3.5mm Jack

    No USB

    games audio

    Microphone

    comfy

    It's a pain looking at headsets online as they hardly ever show you the cables!

    But if someone could help i'd be grateful.

    Chat Headset missing in the XboxOne package

    Not all xbox ones come with the headset/. I have gears of war ultimate edition bundle 500gb with new 3.5mm controller and didnt come with ehadset. i think now that they have the new controller with 3.5mm jack, they stop giving those headsets for free.

    Old controller required the stereo headset adapter to work with my headset. ( was a friends stereo headset adapter) so I thought i'd buy the new type of controller so as to not also buy the stereo headset adapter.

    The new controller differences

    3.5mm jack which is pointless

    and the bumpers feel slightly different, but that just may be because i'm now used to worn bumpers on my old controller.

    Which model Turtle Beach headset are you using? Is the headset plugged into the controller using a stereo headset adapter, or is directly connected with a 3.5mm chat cable?

    You should be able to use Cortana commands using a headset, though the headset needs to be connected via 3.5mm cable.

    The newer version of Xbox One controllers have a 3.5mm jack so you can plug in any headset which has a 4 pole 3.5mm connector in order to use that as a headset and microphone.

    USB headsets do not work though

    if I'm not mistaken, this headset comes with a headset adaptor for the Xbox One controller, correct? If so, you can continue to use the headset + adaptor on the controllers which now have a 3.5mm port as they still have the port for the headset adapter to
