How to charge your Xbox Wireless Headset

You should charge your wireless headset overnight before you start using it for the first time. You can charge your wireless headset using a USB charging cable or an AC power adapter.

To charge with a USB charging cable, connect one end of the headset charging cable to your wireless headset and plug the other end into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console. You have to turn on your console to charge the headset.

To charge with an AC power adapter, plug it into an electrical outlet and connect the other end to the wireless headset.

Note: When you connect the AC power adapter with your headset, the connection (if any) between the headset and console will be interrupted.

At the time of charging, the lights on your wireless headset flash one at a time, and then turn off. But when the headset is fully charged, all four lights blink together.

The headset beeps when the battery is low.

    • If your headset beeps two times, it means that 30 minutes of battery life remains.
    • If it beeps three times, 5 minutes of battery life remains.

I have the Turtle Beach X42. You can use it on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 (need a chat adaptor from Microsoft/Xbox for Xbox 1). It has a dual band 2.4/5Ghz wireless transmitter which you plug into the optical port. Since it uses 5Ghz tech, it illuminates interference
from other common 2.4Ghz technology such as home networks and computers using the networks, many of them are connected to a 2.4Ghz frequency. It has Dolby game sound and can use to chat. Great for using late at night if you don't want to disturb your family/neighbours
    through your HDTV's speakers.

I use the Kinect to voice chat on Xbox 1 though.

  5. Could go for the official
    Xbox One Stereo Headset
. I've seen it on sale for $50 different places over the last month. Another option is you can get the headset adapter and any 3.5mm headset or earbuds designed for a cell phone that uses the CTIA plug standard and you will
get game and chat audio right through the controller.

  7. smileskybird, you better be right about the X42; I just re-puchased a new chat cord for the headset to see if that'll fix my issues using it with the chat adapter. If it doesn't, then you just cost me $15...

I use the Xbox One Stereo Headset as well. In fact, I just got mine back from repair today. It's pretty awesome when it's working properly.

Good Saturday morning yall. @ geek that was what D smith an authorized Xbox retailer in NZ and Australia said. The X42's work on Xbox 1 game sound wise but they said I needed a chat adaptor from Microsoft for Xbox 1.

I use the Kinect to voice chat. But it's better to have the game sound coming thru the headset rather than through your HDTV's speakers especially playing late at night.

I only listed the first letter D of the name of the retailer. The remaining 3 letters would have come up as censored. Australians and NZ'rs would know what retailer I'm talking about. I don't really want to waste money on another headset when I already have
one which will work on 360 and 1.

  12. You're not instilling me with confidence, smileskybird... You've just explained to me exactly what I've been doing and have been trying to do. My issue is that despite the fact that the TB website states, "Please note that you
will need the Xbox One Headset Adapter from Microsoft to get game audio and chat or connect this headset you will need to connect this headset using optical out (S/PDIF) for game audio and use the Kinect® for game chat with Xbox One" which is confusing
in and of itself (seriously, please translate that for me guys), I cannot for the life of me hear anyone else talk while using the TB X42 with the Xbox One Stereo headset adapter. The game audio comes through fine, but for some reason I can't hear anybody
else - I just don't understand it! Is it compatible? Is it not? Is something I'm using broken of dysfunctional? In regards to the latter, I've tried 2 separate XB1 stereo headset adapters, an additional 3-ringed 2.5mm female to 3.5mm male extension cable,
and am now awaiting a new chat cable for my headset in case that was malfunctioning. I'm about to give up and chalk this up as a complete waste of time and money. Seriously, nowhere online have I been able to get a clear cut, "yes this works" or "no this does
    not work." headset :(

    controller audio problem

    • Disconnect the headset or unplug the headset cable from the bottom of the controller, and then reconnect it firmly to the controller (in the expansion port for a headset or the 3.5-mm port for a 3.5-mm chat headset).
    • Make sure the headset is not muted. To do this, check the mute button on the headset controls. (For a headset, the mute button is on the left side of the connector that is plugged into the expansion port of the controller. For a 3.5-mm chat headset, the
mute button is a slider button on the front of the audio controls that are in the middle of the headset cable.)

    No chat mixer settings

It will only show up if you have a headset that is plugged in with a headset adapter. Means it works with turtle beach headsets and others like that. It won't work with the headset that comes with the xbox. If you buy a chatpad you get a other headset with
itthat one works too. Other then that the headset options don't show up with the standard headset. Hope that helps.

Does the headset work when the controller is connected to the Xbox?

In the Xbox Accessories app (on the PC), does your headset show up?

What type of headset are you trying to use? Is it a chat headset for Xbox, a phone headset...?

I cannot be heard in Xbox live party chat, but I can hear others and gameplay, adapter seems to be in working order.

    Hello Mimi!

Below is a list of non-compatible headsets:

    Non-compatible headsets

The following headsets are incompatible with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter:

    • Mad Catz Tritton Warhead headset
    • Mad Catz Tritton Primer headset (Mad Catz offers an adapter for the Primer headset to convert the 2.5-mm audio jack to a 3.5-mm audio jack. Contact Mad Catz for support.)
    • The Xbox 360 Wireless Headset and Xbox 360 Wireless Bluetooth Headset
    • Headsets with this 2.5-mm connector will not work because of the connector format. This connector includes a long, cylindrical pin in the middle of the connecting side that does not fit into the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.

More info on using compatible headsets with the adapter.
