Headset working but xbox doesn’t recognise mic

my headset is connected to my controller and I can hear myself talking and the game audio. However, in party chat it says that it is unable to find my mic. How do I sort this out?

Hi All, I will try to make this brief.

I had an Xbox One original and received the above error tried multiple troubleshooting methods and so was unable to fix it. I ended up buying a new headset and low and behold it worked.

I then a couple of months later sold my Xbox One and upgraded to a One S the headset still worked then 3 weeks in the same error has appeared again and the headset is not working I’ve watched many you tube videos, browsed here and google but nothing seems
to work.

Tried cold re boot

A reset of Xbox

Checked privacy settings

I can’t check if mic is on because it doesn’t recognise there is a mic

Even tried using the headset through my other controller and that’s the same.

This is ruining my sons life and therefore ruining mine lol is there a definitive fix for this? Please help! Thanks in advance

My mic doesn’t work on Xbox one X

Hi. My mic doesn’t work on Xbox one X, it worked fine on my regular Xbox one, and I can hear audio perfectly fine. I’ve tried two headsets that are exactly the same, on three different controllers, and it still doesn’t pick up any audio from my mic.

 

My headset is working but I cannot hear people in party chat. It says it is unable to find my mic. I’ve tried switching controllers and headsets but it made no different

 

We are having a similiar issue. On our 4th headset (thinking that was the problem, although current and #3 had sound when plugged into another device) and the controller is not recognizing the headset. Controller is up to date with new batteries.
