Headset will not fit into the controller (From the same bundle)

Today I bought the Sunset Overdrive white Xbox One bundle. The headset absolutely won't fit in the controller no matter how hard i try to make it fit.

Now, I don't wanna be rude, but what the hell? Both the controller AND the headset came right from the box. Now here I am wasting my time on this forum.

Perhaps I shoulda bought a PS4 instead.

Chatpad won't fit into controller

We received a new Chatpad + headset for a gift, but the chatpad will not fit into the controller.

The XBox is XBox One S (white controller)

The Chatpad + Headset are labeled for XBox One / Windows 10 and are black.

Is it supposed to slide in easily? It certainly doesn't and without putting too much pressure does not seem to want to fit into the controller. We have already plugged the headset in directly to the controller and ran the firmware update. However, the
chatpad simply won't fit into the controller.

Microsoft Xbox One Chat Headset

Hi,

I recently purchased the Xbox One 1TB bundle from Game UK. The bundle came with the newly designed controller and chat headset with a 3.5 jack that plugs directly in to the controller without the need for an adapter. I am impressed with the new headset and
want to purchase one for my son. I have been informed that this new headset is not available to purchase as a stand alone item. The question is: What is the point of releasing a new controller with jack plug but no availability of a headset to fit it?

I recently purchased the 1TB bundle here in the UK. It came with a new controller and also a headset fitted with the 3.5 jack that can be fitted directly in to the controller without the adapter. The headset is excellent but unfortunately cannot be purchased
as a separate item. Will Microsoft ever released a headset that fits directly in to the new designed controller?

It sounds like the headset is not working. Depending on the store you got it from they may just exchange the headset and not have to return the whole console. When I got mine, the headset did not fit in the controller. It took the controller and headset
back to the store. They figured out that it was the headset that had the problem. They opened a headset box from the shelf and exchanged it on the spot.

The he says "finally, separate from the console bundle" and introduces the headset.

I've experienced the similar issue when I got my Xbox One S, and I still had the Xbox One headset from the previous console. The headset connects the same way to the controller as the chatpad: through the controller's accessory port.

I was able to fit my XB1 headset into the accessory port after some tries,
but you have to get it at just the perfect angle. Just have a little patience and angle the chatpad until it's able to slide into the port. Eventually, the normal wear on the port will allow an easier fit between the two pieces.

Not sure what Microsoft did to the accessory ports on the One S controllers or recently manufactured accessories. I guess they might've made the connectors a strangely
tighter fit as of late.

You may experience the same thing with your replacement unit if you've already got another one coming. Try what I suggested regardless.
