  1. Headset Troubles: Headset Adapter, Default Headset, Nothing Transmits Voice

I've been having problems getting chat to work. I keep testing Party and Skype test calls to see if I can fix it, but nothing works. I can hear on whatever headset just fine, but nothing registers my voice, except Kinect and I'd prefer to keep my chat on
    my head.

I've tried different two headset adapters and four different headset solutions: iPhone earpods, Skullcandy Hesh 2 with Mic1, the PS4 headset that came with it, and an old 360 headset with the adapter's 2.5mm adapter. Nothing.

Then, I got the bright idea to get out the pack-in headset and plug it into the controller. Again, nothing. Doesn't transmit voice, but receives when it should.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    :)

  2. Headset mic doesn't seem to be working correctly.

Headset mic cannot transmit my voice but I can hear others. Have tried trouble shooting to no avail. What to try next?

A quick tip for those with the headset adapter

One step you must do is turn off your "game" chat from your headset adapter. Your headset will transmit the audio via optical AND via the headset adapter so you end up with a really strange sound. It is easyt to do and the same should apply for most headsets.

This is the Astro guide and this part that is key:

So no matter your Mixamp or audio controller/mixer, the same should apply

  4. Headset Troubles: Headset Adapter, Default Headset, Nothing Transmits Voice

Okay, got it to work. I tried what another thread said and took the battery out of the controller, turned off the XBO, plugged the battery-less controller into usb, turned it on, and tested the mic from there. Once I confirmed it was working, i put the
battery back in and it was working correctly.

I don't know if it was simply taking the batteries out of the controller that did it, but those are the steps I used.
