Headset suddenly stopped working on Xbox one S. Headset works perfectly everywhere else (checked!!) so a console issue? Please can anyone give me a straight answer/solution . Controllers? Settings? do this or do that surely there must be an easy answer
for a techno simpleton trying to fix my kids dilemma or do I just turn the bloody thing off and throw it away saving any more expense. PLEASE HELP but no Gobbledegook. Thanks

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console. If that doesn't work try a different controller if you have one available.

Others have suggested using the Controller Adapter. It seems to resolve many issues. I use it myself and have never had any issues.

Thanks for the reply, Already done it and no joy. I have tried most search engine "solutions" and respect peoples ideas but cannot believe there isn't a simple fix to what seems a common problem. I am a builder by trade and if I hit a problem we just fix
it.

I have found out what the issue is and it seems to be the controller and its 3.5mm connection not creating a tight fit to the inserted plug. The headset works when you move the plug around and manage to get a lucky connection!! I can see that the plug doesn't
insert far enough into the controller as the same plug does into other devices hence the hit and miss connection. A design fault maybe but having noticed how many others using non Xbox headsets have experienced similar problems maybe not!! What do I do, buy
a new headset which works fine for 3 weeks or a new controller every month? This needs sorting out.
