    Headset sound clicking

I just updated my xbox one a couple days ago, and ever since then there is this clicking sound coming through my headset. It is so annoying that I find myself playing for a while, and then just cutting my gaming session short cause I can't take it anymore.
I have tried multiple controllers (both elites), and multiple headsets (Turtle Beach XO7, Astro A50).....and it doesn't change. So from process of elimination it has to becoming from the xbox, and since I haven't had this issue till the update, I would say
that is the problem. Has anyone else had this issue??? Or know how to fix it???

    :)

Thanks for your reply, it works fine at the moment hard to explain how loud it is but i hear it even with tv volume pretty high. It sounds like a fan knocking against something and its coming from the vented side. I have done everything you suggested but
its hasnt gone away. The only time it stops is when i tilt the console. Also when i turn it of it slows to a stop. Im just worried if i let it carry on it might hurt my xbox which i had to save for a long time to be able to buy..

    Hi Nathan Ashun,

Is your Xbox working correctly? How loud is the clicking? Some noises are normal to hear. It would help us a lot if you could point out an area that it's coming from. Try ejecting a disc to see if it happens. If that does happen try to see if it's coming
from the left side, or by one of the fans, or another area entirely like an external hard drive plugged in.

Also, try doing a hard reset to see if that helps. With your console on hold the power button down for about 8 seconds until it turns off. After that turn it back on and see if the problem persists. If the problem does persist try unplugging it for a few
minutes and plugging it back in.

If you've determined that it's inside the console, it's definitely not a normal sound, and there is no disc in the console, and the steps above don't resolve the only solution for a hardware issue like that would be requesting a repair or trying to exchange
it at the retailer you purchased it from. If you want to do a repair you can request one here. Personally though if it's a very faint sound, and everything is working ok, you may just want to
watch it for a while. The console warranty is good for a year, so if you can't exchange for a new one at the retailer, maybe keep an eye on it for a couple months before sending it in. It could just be a a weird harmless fan click as it spins a little.

    I read all that already.

    Still no sound.

Paired the headset again and still no sound.

The sound from it is when I switch mode's or turn up or down the volume. The clicking sound but

    no game sounds.

    Mic and or controller

I'd check that it isn't a hardware issue with the headset first. Do you have a computer to plug the headset into and see if it also sounds weird? You can monitor your own input in the Sound options via Control Panel if you click on Properties of the
headset under the "Recording" tab, then click the "Listen" tab in the properties window and check "Listen to this device". See if it sounds weird on PC? That can help identify if it's the Xbox or controller.

    Hi HappyGamingHD,

Sorry you're having issues playing your games and apps. It sounds like your issue is a little different than the OP's. So the community can best help with your exact issue, I would suggest creating a thread of your own.

Could this clicking noise just be expansion and contraction of the XB1s enclosure? It happens to mine all the time and it has plentiful ventilation, it's just something that happens.
