Headset randomly stopped picking up sound help!

So I was playing games and all the usual when suddenly mid-sentence my mic stop picking up sound. I could still head and mute my mic but I couldn't speak. What do I do?

Using kinect for voice and stereo headset at the same time

Hey guys,

Just moved to Peru a few weeks ago, brought along my Xbox One.

Stereo headset i have has stopped working (right headphone stopped working and mic)

Is it possible to use the headset for sound from party chat and the kinect for voice at the same time? I would like to avoid hearing party chat over the tv. I've tried just plugging it in and when it's plugged in the kinect stops picking up my voice.

2 separate Xbox One headsets, both unable to pick up my voice.

So yesterday all of a sudden my headset stopped picking up my voice when I would talk in party, and also when I would try and talk in game chat. I can hear everyone perfectly fine through the headset but I am unable to talk.

 

Sorry to hear it. Sometimes my mic kicks out too but that is due to the adapter coming a little loose. Please ensure the adapter is connected firmly to the controller.

 

My mic doesn't even register that it's connected, it just has a picture of a pyramid and a 'We were unable to detect someone's headset' (something along those lines). PS: yes, my mic works perfectly in iPhone and has been troubleshooted 5 x over, and both
controllers and in-box headsets are brand new as my One is only 3 days old. Lol! A multiplayer console and game library where you can't play what you purchased because no mic means no multiplayer. I should have stuck with my Dreamcast.

 

PS: I can't even play my Xbox 360 thru the 'magnificent' HDMI IN input either. Yes, it's been blamed on my ISP, has been blamed on unopened portals (which your ISP has nothing to do with), and has been troubleshooted for hours thru the MS helpline. They
also made me a Preview member despite my avoiding that experiment like the plague on 360. They even said I signed up 'accidentally'. LMAO! I deliberately waited 2 years for MS to get their act together after One's disastrous launch, but I guess I should have
waited a little longer - 8 years longer.

I've been responding to every relevant mic thread possible. I've hard resetted, got my NAT settings OPEN, and have been troubleshooting with Microsoft support via phone for days now. They asked me to call my ISP to open portals that my ISP has nothing to
do with, I've cleared the cache, I've replaced 2 brand new controllers and mics with 2 brand new controllers and mics, but still the mic only works on iPad and iPhone. I have ordered a stereo headset adapter in the hope that it resolves this problem (probably
caused by the November 2015 update), but I shouldn't have to outlay more money for a console that should work. Is reporting this on a mic problem thread not relevant?
