Headset Question

Hi folks, I'm as excited as most of you about the new Xbox Series X coming. I've been looking at the Astro A40s for a while and wanted to ask a few things about it.

Is the M80 Mixamp worth anything if I already have the Dolby Atmos app and license for my headset output? I'm not sure if that covers the 3D sound that the M80 is supposed to deliver or is that peripheral enhances the Dolby feature even more.

I'm not set on the brand or type of headset so really I am open to any suggestions for headsets that go hand in hand with Dolby on the new Xbox.

Hi WaterPheonix !

Seeing as how nobody has mentioned it yet, were you following the correct procedure for connecting the wired mic? If you dont follow certain steps when connecting it, it will not work.

Make sure before you plug the mic into the bottom of the controller that the on/off switch on the mic is set to OFF , and then also ensure that the volume scroller is set all the way to OFF aswell, this will be to the left.

Now plug the Mic into your controller, then turn the on/off switch on the mic to ON and turn the volume up to the top.

This is the procedure for connecting a wired headset. As other people suggested you can then test it by sending someone a voice message, listening to what you record and see if it works, discarding the message afterwards. You could also join a party like
they say, and see if the Mic icon appears.

Which headset is it? The latest Bluetooth wirless style*, older XBOX only wireless or wired headset .

If its a wireless one what happens when you press the sync button on the headset/console?

If it's a wired headset it's more than likley faulty and i would return it to the supplier.

*If it's the latest one ensure that it's in the XBOX compatible mode, best way to determine that is by what colour the ring is flashing upon trying to sync (it should be flashing green)

The rumble doesn't why would the headset? When the rumble goes out I plug it in.

Your headset will only be capable of receiving game audio. You will not be able to use it for chat until the adapter is released sometime next year.

I have a chat adapter and am gettinb sound now how do i test the microphone is working aswell ?
