Headset Problems

Both my headset and Samsung headphones are experiencing the same problem. I could hear game audio for a month but now I can only hear party chat through the left side. I could hear both game and party through both sides of my headset and headphones before.
There isn't an option for a chat mixer.

Hey there, Apr719!

I'm sorry to see any headset issues! Are the Samsung headphones the ones that come with a Samsung phone with a mic, or a set that you can buy separately at a retailer? Sometimes, when you plug in another basic phone headphones with a mic (like the Apple
headphones) the chat mixer option will come up.

However, if it's still not coming up for you, make sure your
controller is updated. If you have a second controller (or have access to one via a friend or family member), try that one out as well. If the headsets work there, then it's likely the controller that's causing the issue, and I would suggest getting a replacement.

However, if it's not working on a second controller on your console, then it could be the OS. At that point, I would suggest a factory reset of the console keeping your games and apps. If it's still not working after that, then I would suggest getting a
replacement controller; the controller's update could have been corrupted and only a replacement controller would resolve that.

There's a lot I'm throwing at you here. If you need clarification on anything, or any assistance outside of what I have suggested, I'm happy to help further! Please let me know how it all goes.

Sounds like a headset or a xbox controller problem ... do u have another controller to try the headset in to see if its the controller that is the problem? Or do u have another headset to plug into the controller to see if the other headset is the problem?

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles for assistance with your headset being recognized:

If the problem persists:

Try your headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced.
Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.
Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
updating the first controlleragain. If that fails, the controller will
need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online Service Center.

Try this out and let us know the results.

Quite a while before actually. It was happening with my first headset, so I thought it was the headset causing problems, then ordered a new headset about a week after the problems started happening, then a week to get the headset, so a while before the post.
