Headset Problems, Plz help me!

Thank you for clicking on this thread. I have been dealing with this problem for a month, and i thought it was my old headset, since i've had it for 8 months, so i went out today to get a new one, and it still has the same problem! the problem is, My headset
would only let me hear party chat, and nothing else. Not even the menu sounds are hearable! I've tried tons of solutions, from the menu options, to getting a new headset, to changing controlers! Please, if you know anyway to fix this, tell me! I am Desprate,
Please help!

Unless someone else would rather step in, I would like to hear a bit more about this problem you are having. Could you please explain a little bit more in depth as to what it is you are trying to accomplish? From my understanding, it seems you wish to hear
all the audio output (including voice chat) your Xbox One console plays (including, audio from games, music, apps) through your headset correct? If that is the case, make sure under your Settings >Display & Sound > Audio Output is set up accordingly to however
your audio equipment is setup. If you have your headset connected directly to your display then make sure HDMI audio is set to on. If you are trying to receive audio by connecting your headset into controller, you may need a Stereo Headset Adapter that way
you can plug both MIC Input and Headset jacks. Again, I am not sure how your setup is, and what equipment it is your using.

 

Ok, here is a more in depth explanation. You know what my problem is, i'm trying to hear everything trough my headset. i dont have an adapter, i have the 3.5 Xbox Controler, the one that you can plug your headset right in.

i have it pluged into my controler, with no adapter. I'm using the turtle beach Recon 30X. I know it works, bucuase i can still hear my party, but nothing else. It is not directly connected to my TV. is there anything else i can describe?

 

Okay, well after I did a little reading on that headset you have, it seems that the Turtle Beach Recon 30X is
only just for chatting purposes (as in you can talk them, they can talk to you and that's it). It doesn't allow any game audio, menu sounds, or anything other than just voice chat. It has only one ear cup right? Yeah that's what it must be
sorry to say. You may need to get another headset that supports both game audio and chat abilities so you can hear both through a single headset. So well if you choose to go get another one, just make sure that it has those features.

So here is what I am thinking. You need a headset that has 2 jacks at the end (usually a pink one for mic input and green for headset input). When you have this, you need to get a 3.5mm Audio Y Splitter cable (usually not more than $5). This Y cable on one
end has the 3.5mm jack that you connect to your current controller and the other ends you would connect your mic input and headset input (the green and pink ones). This sounds more of what you need. Now just as a note, I myself do not own the new 3.5mm Xbox
One controller your talking about, I know what it looks like though. I have the original one, but the above method should work, that's honestly what I would go and do, i'm pretty sure that will work.
