    It started when I purchased a new sealed controller and it arrived March 29th. The controller worked great itself at that point! I needed a new headset (exposed wires), connection issues, so I purchased a new sealed headset that arrived June 10th but had
    some various issues with that. I noticed it would echo terribly unless the volume was pretty low and while my console recognized I had a headset connected my headset/controller didn't give any feedback to when I was talking. The console showed others in my
    party were talking but I couldn't hear it. I chalked it up to being the headset and opted to return it, it was uncomfortable anyway too. So I purchased a different model headset on June 26th. The problem was that I was noticing the same issue with this headset
    too. My console knew I had a headset connected but things seem to fail to notice when I was talking and I couldn't hear others talking even when I saw their mic 'light up' in the party chats or in games. I tried with a headset adapter and without one but the
    problem would happen until I disconnected and reconnected my headset but that was a temporary fix. A few minutes at best. On July 3rd I tried an old controller with the headset adapter and without it the adapter and everything worked perfect!

    I'm just outside of the 90-day manufacturer's warranty (it ended June 27th, go figure). So I was wondering if there was something I was perhaps missing to why my new controller is acting oddly? Or is it possibly a defect?

    'Broken' Controller is Xbox One Dawn Shadow, firmware is up to date.

    Headsets were Turtle Beach Recon Chat and currently Turtle Beach P4C, no firmware needed for these.

    Mic problems on my brand new Xbox One

    my mic on my xbox one headset is not working ,i a new headset still not working..........come on fix it MS!

    My Xbox 360 Wireless Headset won't connect with a controller...

    You will find this is due to a faulty headset port on your controller. I have a couple of old controllers that will not allow a wireless headset to connect on the same port.

    You can either buy a new controller or you can try cleaning the headset port. You may even find that plugging a wired headset and then unplugging it a few times will resolve the issue.

    BOught a stereo headset as well as a new controller. wouldn't you know- the old headset works fine with the new controller and the new headset doesn't work with old controller.

    Problem- DEAD controller headset port.

    Their is no mute button, either the two headsets don't work or the port where the mic plugs into on the controller doesn't work anymore, you can either try the headsets with another controller or buy a new headset.

    The headset could be broken, or the port where you plug in the headset in your controller. I’d try exchanging it or testing if its the controller with a different headset. If it doesnt work, then I believe it’s faulty wiring in the new mic.

    New 3.5mm jack controller is pointless!

    So after some research it appears that the hyper X cloud 2 headset doesn't work with the new controller 3.5mm port

    This headset is arguably the best vs cost headset available.
