    Headset options

I just bought a new headset (Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2) and I cannot for the absolute life of me find anything on an option to prevent my headset from turning my console on and/or preventing the headset from turning off along with the console. I don't
see anything on their website (Turtle Beach) for an option to fix this but I hear there's an option somewhere in xbox's settings. If anyone knows anything please dear lord help me.

    :)

The DSS should work with any headset for the 360, just plug it in as you would a turtle beach, you have the in-line controller from the headset plug into the green connector then plug the 3.5 jack into the DSS, and for xbox chat you would just connect the
3.5 to 2.5 jack from the in-line headset control to the xbox pad.

I haven't actually seen the setup with other headsets but it should work the same, turtle beach says you can use any headset with the DSS.

I've also been looking around trying to find a decent headset to buy and i think i'm gonna just go with the turtle beach x12 and then get the DSS processor to give it virtual surround.

Apparently reading up on it most people say virtual surround sound is much better on a headset than true surround because with true SS each ear cup has 4 little speakers in it which obviously having 4 tiny speakers produces a lot less quality than 1 big
speaker, what they make up for in surround sound they lack in actual quality.

So in the end it is better to just get a good pair of stereo headphones and then use a virtual surround sound processor if you want it.

It all depends on what you want the headset for and if you want the absolute best money can buy, as for me i'm only really going to use a headset for casual use on the night so i'm just going with the Turtle beach x12 as they seem to be quite good for the
price, but of course you can get a little better quality with a headset twice the price, but in all honesty its not that much of a difference.

The Duragadget Headset features a uni-directional headset. It has a swivel microphone that you can adjust. The headset of the Duragadget is fully adjustable and lightweight; making it comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The Duragadget comes with
2 plugs, both of which fit any standard 3.5-mm jack points--there is one for the microphone and one for the speakers. This headset is entirely black with jacks that are color coded.

I see. I was just reporting something I read in a review on Amazon. But who knows. Some people are just incompetent ha. But its good to hear some assuring feedback regarding the DSS. Now I just need to figure out which headset I wish to go with. Im sure
my Sharkoon SPs would work splendidly, however, I am now debating on going with some audiophile headphones. Specifically either Sennheiser HD555s or Audio Technica AD700s. Both have gotten stellar reviews and I can get them used for the same price on Amazon.
    Decisions, decisions......
